    Freestyle fun for all.

Whether you're a seasoned pro pushing the envelope or a beginner just learning to ride, the Lib Tech Skate Banana Original BTX Snowboard delivers a loose, catch-free feel that's sure to advance your freestyle skills all over the mountain. Originally launched 10 years ago, the Skate Banana's iconic status within the shred world is backed by a cult-like following that couldn't imagine ripping on anything else. It's playful and extremely forgiving when you're linking turns and jibbing on boxes and rails, yet still versatile enough for ripping through the trees and slashing fresh powder.

The secret to the Skate Banana's legendary freestyle status lies within its BTX profile, which is the original rocker/mild camber blend that put Lib Tech on the map for most riders, especially those shredding outside of the Pacific Northwest (where they've been popular since inception). This profile places a generous "Banana" rocker between your feet for catch-free freestyle and endless buttering potential. The pronounced rocker also floats quite well through fresh powder, especially considering the Skate Banana's twin shape. There's mild camber under the bindings, extending to the tip and tail kicks, for added control and plentiful pop for sending rollers and freestyle features.

Because it's so loose and playful, Lib Tech uses their Magne-Traction edges for extra bite and control across hardpack runs and firm snow. This serrated edge is especially noticeable when you're riding in less-favorable conditions where ice is prevalent, such as the Midwest and East Coast. Inside the Skate Banana, the Aspen/Columbian Gold core is both extremely light and strong, thanks to long, lively fibers sourced from fast-growing trees. Triax/biax fiberglass keeps things playful and poppy for treating the mountain like a giant park. And since you'll likely be using this board on rails and jibs, the UHMW sidewalls stand up to abusive impacts.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

So I have had my Skate Banana for over a year now. I have ridden it on the east coast (ice coast), and the west coast. First things first this board can press extremely well, and is playful all over the hill. With that being said i think it really shines in the park. I also found that the deck rips pretty well all over the mountain as well for a beginner to intermediate rider . This was my first board with magnatraction and i loved it! Especially riding in the east coast where we are constantly battling ice having multiple contact points is such an advantage. Another plus is this board makes it super hard to catch an edge, which makes it super fun for learning slow butters, and working on spinning onto jibs.I have also taken this board out in the pow, and the rocker does a great job keeping it afloat, and that soft feel allows a lot of control. My end review is this board is great for any rider who loves slow butters, finding natural hit, and of course loves ripping park laps. It has a nice snappy feel you can't help but pop all over the hill on this deck! Please feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email if you want to chat about this board!
