    Freestyle fun for all.

Whether you're a seasoned pro pushing the envelope or a beginner just learning to ride, the Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard delivers a loose, catch-free feel that's sure to advance your freestyle skills all over the mountain. Originally launched over 10 years ago, the Skate Banana's iconic status within the shred world is backed by a cult-like following that swear by it as their go-to everyday deck. It's playful and extremely forgiving when you're linking turns and jibbing on boxes and rails, yet still versatile enough for ripping through the trees and slashing fresh powder.

The Skate Banana is built on Lib's BTX rocker profile, which features rocker between the bindings for float in powder and forgiveness on hardpack, while the tip and tail have the slightest bit of camber to maintain pop and stability. The result is a loose, catch-free ride that gives you enough pressure at the ends to charge hard. A medium-soft flex lets you press and butter your way through the park with ease, while still maintaining enough stability to confidently send jumps and bomb groomers. Add in Magne-Traction serrated edges for reliable grip on the iciest days, and you have a board that's ready to conquer the entire mountain.

Freestyle Board can Ride it All

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've gone through two generations of the deck and absolutely LOVE it. I'm 5'10' and both of my decks have been 152cm. When I purchased my first one I was doing about a 60/40 split of park (mostly rails & jibs) riding and all-mountain riding. Since then I've transitioned to almost exclusively all-mountain resort/off-piste riding and some backcountry here and there and can say that this board handles it all in stride: if you can't afford a quiver of specified boards, this is a solid Swiss army knife of a deck.

The medium-soft flex and rocker give this board an incredibly fun, poppy, playful feel - boost any side hit with ease and turn any bump into a jump! For me, the rockered shape offsets the relatively short length of my 152, so this deck has no issue when it comes to float and the shorter length makes it easy to rip through deep snow in dense trees. The deck also has great torsional flex, so get ready to rip some nice big euro-cares. The one perceived tradeoff is a slight (I repeat - slight) lack of stability at (very) high speeds due to soft flex and reverse camber - there needs to be SOMETHING wrong with this dream board, right?

The MagneTraction is also pretty great: I live and ride in the northeast, so having extra grip on that lovely "New England powder" (which some call "ice") is a blessing when you're bombing down a run with mixed snow conditions; the edge tech makes it feel like you're riding with razor-sharp edges without giving that catch-at-any-moment feeling.

The bottom line: from park to powder, this board handles it all in stride. It's certainly not the ultimate deck for specific applications, but if you're just looking for an affordable daily driver that can press and spin off rails in the park as effortlessly as it can charge through steep and deep glades in your local state park, look no further!
