    Trees are for beavers.

Meet the Leki Tour Vario Speedlock Ski Pole. Light, strong, and adjustable, it's a vast improvement over trying to ski with two sticks in your hands. The aluminum shaft is durable enough for in-bounds riding and lightweight enough to take to the backcountry, and the Speed Lock 2 adjustment system provides 40cm of bombproof adjustability for skiers of all heights. The PA Safety grip provides a soft and stable platform for your hand, and it has an extension for easy use on the skin track, while the Lock Security adjustable strap has a thin fleece lining for increased comfort when you're wearing it with thin spring gloves.

Lexi does ski poles well. Better than most, in my opinion. I hadn't found a reason to spend more than the $100-ish of the Haute Route's and these at the $80 retail are an even better bargain. Like the Haute Routes that I've also purchased, these have preformed flawlessly so far. As with the HR's: Light weight, easy to adjust in clumsy mittens and the handle ergonomics are excellent. I'm convinced there is no perfect adjustable pole, so no points lost for the need to tighten the thumb screw now and then. If they collapse during resort use, I'll amend my review : )
