On all rides, helmets are essential. That's a non-negotiable fact roadies have accepted in stride and that brands have responded to with an endless output of impact protection. In the case of Lazer's Sphere Helmet, we're seeing a great combination of aesthetics, comfort and performance that keeps you protected barreling through descents. It seems Lazer has thought of nearly everything since this helmet can be accompanied by an optional Aeroshell for protection from rain, or for a quick aerodynamic solution.
The Sphere helmet has channeled ventilation that keeps your head cool when you're working hard. Channels are cut out of the EPS and 18 vents allows for air flow to move more freely, even if the helmet is tight on your head. Adjustments are made easily with Lazer's proprietary Rollsys system so you'll be able to fit your helmet appropriately with the turn of a thumb wheel.

This one is way too large for a Medium

I like this helmet, but I believe it came mislabeled as a medium but is a large. I have the perfect Medium size head, 57mm, right in the middle of the M range of 55-59mm. Mid-range on this helmet is about 59 mm, and with the adjustment screw turned all the way smaller, it still just almost fits, not quite snug on my head. Otherwise, it looks like a fine helmet. This will be my third helmet, and my previous ones fit down on my head such that they wouldn't fall off my head without the chin strap fastened. It seems that the new helmets with MIPS want to sit on top of my head instead of around it. No matter how tight I make the headband, the helmet will fall off my head if I lean down like I'm going to touch my toes, which is supposed to be a test for safe fit. I found a Specialized for $250 and a Bell for $150 that don't do that, and fit well for Medium.
