Why We Like The Century MIPS Helmet
Lazer updates their Century Helmet to include MIPS technology, giving us every advantage in both aerodynamics and safety. The Century is so-called for the 100 years of technological advances that led to its design, with superior ventilation to help us stay cool as well as intelligent features to protect us out on the road.
An innovative Twistcap allows you to choose between aero advantage or greater ventilation, depending on the day and event. Lazer claims that the aero design of the Twistcap can save up to 11% of drag from ventilation, saving energy for the finishing sprint. At the back of the helmet, the Turnfit system provides both vertical and horizontal adjustment for the helmet to hone in the perfect fit, while the MIPS layer provides a slip plane to redirect rotational forces. To keep you visible during dawn and dusk rides, an integrated rear LED light enhances safety during those low-light conditions.

Great helmet and value for the price.
I was looking for a new road bike helmet, and this one seemed to offer a bunch of flexibility and safety. At first the flip panel seemed a bit gimmicky, but I do like that I can regulate the air flow. The aero aspect of it likely does not make as much difference for me, but fall/winter riding could be that much more comfortable. Comfort is top notch, I hardly notice it while riding. I think the light is a nice bonus for early morning/night rides, but the solid mode is def brighter than the flash. The icing on the cake, this was one of the highest rated helmets on the VA Tech testing, and provides a definite peace of mind. It's not the lightest, or most aero, but for your average touring/fitness rider it checks all the boxes.

This isn't the lightest, most aero, most ventilated or flashiest helmet, but it disappears on my head in a way that no other helmet has. I have no idea if the aero features make me faster, but it's nice to be able to increase/decrease ventilation depending on the temperature. The finishing on the helmet screams quality. Two downsides: The built-in light is pretty weak, but it's a nice-to-have in case of emergency. Also, it's not great at holding on to sunglasses in the vents which is a bit of a pain. I thought I'd be annoyed by the sunglasses issue more, but the comfort keeps me reaching for this helmet on every road & gravel ride anyway.

Best of both worlds

So far I haven't tested the helmet's protection (Knock on wood.) I can however say the Century mips is extremely comfortable, looks great and is loaded with awesome features. The Turnfit system allows you to dial in the fit all the way around your head with the twist of a dial, this means Lazer helmets can fit a wider variety of head shapes. The Century Mips also has some excellent features a flipable plate that changes from vents to aero with the twist of a magnetic cap. Don't worry either, the magnets are solid after several weeks of riding there is no movement or rattle in the plate at all. As the icing on the cake, it has an integrated LED built right into the back of the helmet. While it isn't the brightest light, it is so well integrated I don't ever notice it until I need it.
