Step up to the all-mountain buffet.

The Lange Men's RX 130 LV Ski Boot devours everything from lines full of pristine corduroy to bottomless pow with the occasional crud and bumps peppered between. This low volume option in the RX line maintains the same precise, race-inspired fit you'd expect from a pair of Langes, but in a design that's friendly to the entire mountain. The RX 130 is stiff with a 130 flex and narrow 97mm last that will please aggressive, expert skiers that demand a hard-charging feel from their boots.

The mono-injected polyether shell makes for a smooth and progressive flex, while the high-density, heat-moldable liner ensures a fully customizable fit that will leave feet stoked to ski lap after lap. The RX 130s are fitted with four stout aluminum buckles with a 40mm cam lock power strap for a super stiff closure to the boot. The custom tongue allows the fit of the boot to be customized at the instep area to reduce common pressure points, promote circulation, and increase the overall warmth and comfort of the boot. Increasing their all-mountain prowess, is the addition of a vulcanized rubber sole that will make the hike into your favorite backcountry lines feel a whole lot easier and more secure when things get a bit more exposed.

Great Pair of Boots for Aggressive Skier

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my first pair of Lange ski boots and I've been extremely satisfied with them. Last two pairs of boots were Tecnica and Full Tilt, and I've been much happier with the Langes over either of those.
I went with the low volume option because I'm looking for optimal performance, as well as the fact that I have a narrow foot. I also decided to go with the RX over RS, because I like having the rubber soles than can be replaced.
Features I love: the easy-to-use-with-mittens flexing buckles. The buckles have these spring loaded hinges in them that allow you to get your fingers underneath the buckle very easily - such a nice feature! I also love the powerstrap system. It's much like a booster strap, minus the elasticity. It could stand to be a little beefier, but it functions very well.

These boots drive a ski very well and are what you'd expect from Lange and their reputation. Great high performance boot with a nice, snug fit.

I will need to swap out the liners for some Intuitions pretty quickly. They seem to be packing out really quickly (I've got exactly 20 days on them). But, that's to be expected with stock liners these days.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with these boots!

Nothing but the best from Lange

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Updating this review halfway through the season. About me: 5'8, 190lbs, 27 y.o., fairly aggressive/athletic expert skier.

I bought these in a nice and snug 26.5 (I wear a 10 street shoe) for a performance fit, but have a low volume foot and very little arch, so I have no problem with the narrow last. In fact, now that I have broken it in a bit, my foot has turned out to be too low volume for Lange boots in general. Within the spectrum of low volume boots, Langes are often considered to be the more generous compared to the tighter fits from brands like Tecnica or Head. Good for someone who is in between a low or mid volume shell, but a little too loose for my foot. The liner is pretty damn good, but not as good as the stiffer and denser Lange liners found in the RS race boots. Stock liners have come a long way and anyone who tells you need Intuition or some other expensive aftermarket liner clearly hasn't spend a lot of time with different ski boots or has a weird foot of their own.

On the snow, they perform exactly as you would expect a Lange to. A true 130 flex; they start off a little soft but quickly engage and remain constant and stiff throughout the turn. Lateral stiffness allows for great response to and from your edges. Ultimately it comes down to fit because you really can't go wrong with the number of great options for all-mountain 130flex boots out there.
