CX301 Wide Cycling Shoe
While many of us love the streamlined look of Lake's CX301 cycling shoes, not all of us can fit our feet comfortably into its narrow last. Those of us with wider feet can now breathe a sigh of relief with the availability of a wide version of the venerable CX301. Featuring 15mm of extra width across the ball of the foot compared to the standard version, this CX301 brings all the high-tech, lightweight features we loved in the original to a wider platform.
As with its narrower counterpart, a single Boa dial adorns the side of each shoe, providing precise fit adjustments and on-the-fly utility for exceptional comfort while maintaining clean lines and that coveted minimalist style. Under that sleek exterior, Lake's CX/TX Race last offers a streamlined, glove-like fit that minimizes excess foot movement and prevents hot spots. Combined with a feathery light and stiff full carbon fiber sole, and you have a shoe that efficiently transfers every watt of power output into the pedals.

These lake extra wide shoes are great. On Lakes website there is a comprehensive fit guide, use it. Although I ended up with a half size higher. These are the first bike shoes that don’t make my feet fall asleep. I had some bursititis in my toe so I ordered these shoes. They got a lot more expensive because of COVID 19 from backcountry.com; I ordered the smaller size and then ordered the next size up and it cost $100 more. I guess because people were ordering bike shoes with Stay at home orders. I would have preferred backcountry.com refunded money based on the cost of the original purchase price of the half size smaller but they didn’t offer.

This shoes only has one BOA and you constantly adjusting while riding. if you don't, the toes touches the front. I should have bought the CX237 instead.

A very soft and flexible road bike shoe.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
After trying on three different shoe styles in a month, I haven't found a pair of shoes that fits my needs exactly. Alas, the Lake CX301 shoes offer me just about enough room for my elongated feet so as to minimize but not eliminate the pains I have been experiencing with my toes with bicycling shoes. The Lake CX301 shoes are by far the widest and roomiest road shoes I have worn thus far. I love the simple BOA design of adjusting the shoes' around my feet. I did remove the inner foot sole to offer my left foot some more room. That was a huge mistake as I road across some broken roads and my toes were bounced around the non cushioned bottom of the shoe and I had the sensation of the tips my toes being hit with a hammer. Leave the sole inserts inside the shoes! These are great shoes; simple and complex at the same time.

I normally where a size 43 shoe. Does the CX301 Wide Yellow come in a size 43? If not, would you recommend the 42.5 or the 43.5?
