You DO need a down skirt.
This skirt is awesome. I was hesitant because I didn't *need* a down skirt, but I love it. I've worn it skinning, skiing, around the house, ice fishing, etc. My only complaint is that the zippers are quite to unzip - that's handy for kick turns while skinning, but not so handy for getting in and out of the car and finding the skirt open on the side. But the important message is that you should have one of these.
