VK Trail Running Shoe

With carefully chosen materials and a sock-like fit, the Men's La Sportiva VK Trail Running Shoe delivers low-volume, super grippy performance on short, steep trails. Designed for high altitude running (specifically straight up 1000 meters of high-angle terrain), this techy shoe weighs in at a mere 7 ounces, and uses a super lightweight rubber sole that focuses most of its grip at the forefoot for assistance climbing the steeps. The upper is snug-fitting and incorporates the footbed into its design for a sock-like fit and feel as you power your way to the top, with asymmetrical laces providing a precise 360° fit. A compressed EVA wedge at the back of the sole keeps the ounces down while enhancing your vertical boost. With rock protection and lightweight design, the only way left is up.

  • Lightweight trail running shoe for short, steep trails
  • Snug-fitting seamless uppers hug your feet as you go
  • Abrasion resistant midsole provides firm response
  • TPU toe cap and rock-guard at forefoot offer rock protection
  • Lightweight rubber sole helps you conquer steep trails
  • Versatile tread for footing on rocks and mud alike
  • Asymmetrical laces dial in a precise, snug fit

This is a five star shoe for me, and it's not even close. But buyer beware, these things are meant for one thing, and one thing only, and that's getting up and down in the fastest, shortest way. All Sportivas run small, but these are extra narrow. The shoe has a sock like, almost climbing shoe-esque feel to it. It took some getting used to, and toe socks, lots of toe socks. But, they are solid in steep terrain, and so light you don't realize they're on sometimes, which I love. They're perfect if you like to finesse your way through steep and technical trails rather than just plow through and over. I'm not sure I'd do more than 20/25K in these, but anything less would be no sweat. I run short, STEEP, and rocky routes in northern Alabama several times a week and these have become my go to's.
