Attack wet trails with the speed of a pack of raptors.
You're way too dedicated of a runner to let a little thing like wet, slippery trails keep you at home. Get out and show the trails who's boss with the La Sportiva Women's Ultra Raptor GTX Trail Running Shoe. The Gore-Tex Extended Comfort lining helps keep your feet dry whether you're splashing through yesterday's puddles or running in the rain, and a breathable mesh upper with abrasion-resistant microfiber provides breathability for when the temperatures inevitably creep upward. You don't want to be worrying about slipping on roots and rocks along the way, so La Sportiva used Frixion XF rubber for an extremely grippy, high-traction sole that won't leave you floundering when things get slick. A nylon shank throughout the midsole gives you just enough stiffness to help avoid rolling ankles, without feeling like Howard Hughes walking around in shoe boxes.

Just what I wanted
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs small
These shoes are amazing. I got them because I was looking for something to replace my beat-up approach shoes, but still be able to do some trail running on occasion. They're perfect for hiking, though I agree with the other reviews in that they are a bit heavy and stiff to use solely for trail running. I've also gotten to take them out on a hike in the snow, and they kept my feet 100% dry. They're perfect for any conditions, extremely grippy, and provide great traction on snow and ice. They do run a tad small, though. I normally wear an 8-8.5 and the 40.5 fits my low-volume feet perfectly.
Heavy but stylish
This shoes run a bit small and are great for narrow feet. They are pretty heavy and took some getting used to . I wouldn't want to run long distance in them due to the weight, better for hiking and snow
Great hiking shoes

I am a big fan of la sportiva helios and I wanted to try smt for winter. The gtx makes the ultra raptor a bit stiff so I would recommend them for hiking instead of trail running. Five stars from me for the quality sole.
I'm trying to decide between this and the Wildcat 2.0 GTX trail running shoe. Any suggestions? I'd like something really durable. Thanks!
Did you ever decide between the two?
