Theory Climbing Shoe

There are some climbs out there with more theories for beta than actual redpoints, and most routes in competitions require theoretical beta for every competitor. For climbs like these, there's the La Sportiva Theory Climbing Shoe. It's one of La Sportiva's most sensitive climbing shoes designed specifically for modern competition climbing and futuristic maneuvers. Unique to La Sportiva, No-Edge technology forgoes the use of more rubber to create edges in order to put your toe closer to microscopic footholds. This enhances overall sensitivity that could be crucial to theorizing your beta into an actual send.
  • Ultra-sensitive climbing shoe designed for competitions
  • Leather, microfiber upper mostly encapsulated in rubber
  • No-Edge technology enhances contact with miniature footholds
  • Vibram XSGrip 2 rubber sole is softer for greater traction
  • P3 System retains the profile's sharp asymmetry and aggressive downturn overtime
  • Item #LSPZ26O

poor quality

I brought these shoes as a gift for my boyfriend. When we opened the box, the wrapping paper stuck to the glue on the side of the shoe... We also found damage (we think it is a hole) on the upper materials along the edge. We were expecting better quality than this for this price from la sportiva...

Backcountry stands behind their stuff; hope you sent them back for a replacement

This shoe is like cheating in the gym, especially on world cup style boulder problems. The no edge on the medial and lateral side of the shoe allows for freedom of movement on volumes and for any kind of problem that you are squeezing with your feet. If you have a medium size foot these will fit you perfectly and I wear the same size (38) in my Skwamas as I do in the Theory's.

What do you think about the heel compared to other LS shoes? I love the forefoot on this, but the heel is really baggy compared to other LS (particularly compared to the solutions). But the soft front and awesome. Just don't understand the heel.

Does this size like the Skwama? I wear a 39 in those and I'm very curious about trying out the Theory but I don't wanna get the wrong size.
