Into the storm.
The Men's Tempesta GTX Train Running Shoe is La Sportiva's newest addition to their trail-dominating fleet of kicks, with all-weather capabilities that can handle unpredictable alpine conditions. This shoe is similar in construction to La Sportiva's Mutant shoe, with the addition of the Gore-Tex lining, making the Tempesta a more year-round option.
The AirMesh upper breathes well and features a super durable scree guard to protect your feet from rugged terrain, and the Gore-Tex bootie can handle Northwest mud and afternoon downpours in the alpine. The single pull lacing system is quick and easy to draw, and the TPU stabilizer holds your heel in place during variable climbs and descents. The FriXion AT V-Groove soles help with traction to keep you upright on tricky scrambles, and the Impact Brake System makes it quick and easy to scrub speed on steep descents.

Great shoes for running in wet/snowy/muddy conditions! have worn Sportiva for years and these run true to size for all my other running and approach shoes! Basically the same platform as the Mutant just with Gortex upper. The lacing system is easier and faster than the Mutants.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
Fits true to size.
Snug in at the widest part of the foot before breaking in but this material does eventually stretch out. Also, they are difficult to slip on at first because there is no tongue, however this part nicely stretches out within a few times putting them on. The traction is extremely good. The rubber is fairly soft so the sole might ware out slightly faster than harder soled shoes, but they hold up very well on ice and snowy rocks. There's some arch support but not too much. Over all, they would make a great trail runner on any surface.
These shoes are a little small you might wanna order a half size up from your normal size, I ended up returning them because they are not offered in a 47.5 but overall a good shoe.
