Why We Like The TC Pro Vibram XS Edge Climbing Shoe

The TC Pro is an absolute necessity for traditional, big wall, and crack climbers, and we like this particular version's Vibram XS Edge rubber sole for specific improvement for slabbing and edging. Like all TC Pros, this shoe is super comfy for multi-pitching, performance-oriented for technical climbs, and keeps our angles covered in cracks of all sizes.

I dont get the rave reviews.

1) The tongues SUCK. They bunch up at the ends and make the shoe super uncomfortable at the top of the foot where the toes begin. 2) SUPER CLUNKY -- not good feel for the rock. You feel like you have shoes made of plastic. 3) some people like this -- they don't break in like other leather shoes do because of a synthetic layer.

Great Trad / Multi-Pitch shoes

Best multi-pitch and crack climbing shoes on the market! After wearing them for a full season, I totally recommend these shoes! The lacing system makes them a great fit for performance but also to make them comfy during a multi-pitch route. The ankles protection is a great feature to have. The stiffness of the shoes is perfect for the slab and vertical routes. Personally, I took half a size bigger compares to my Futura and Solution Comp because these are my multi-pitch / guiding shoes and didn’t want them to be too tight.

The best shoes for crack climbing !!!

They’re insanely stiff and comfortable. Perfect for El Cap, and performs on any rock type from granite to sandstone. Surprisingly good at heel hooks with perfect precision so you can toe-down on minuscule edges and have complete faith in your rubber. Also, the high ankle protects your skin through many styles of climbing. THE BEST for crack climbing! IT'S THE BEST SHOE ON THE MARKET.

Amazing shoes!

My favorite shoe especially for my wide foot. Being a bigger climber I sometimes find myself having trouble fitting into climbing shoes. TC Pros have been my go to. I don't need to worry about being uncomfortable while on the wall. Check them out for comfort and for the sends!

All day comfort with dependable performance

I had been juggling with which climbing shoe to purchase for months. After doing much research I had come across the TC Pro time and time again. As primarily a trad climber this seemed to be a no brainer, excellent edging ability and superb friction with all day comfort. The reviews were right! I purchased the TC Pros and couldn’t have been happier. I had climbed all day and they maintained their comfort and performance. I was a bit worried they may be stumped after the grade increased, but they’ve proven themselves on 5.11+, as I’m sure Tommy Caldwell himself can attest to. These are by far my favorite shoes for outdoor climbing of any kind. My only issue is after just over a year the toe seems to be blowing out. This may be due to the indoor climbing I’ve done in them, but as a La Sportiva product I was a bit surprised. I e resoled them and they are as good as new. Couldn’t be happier.

Best long route shoe out there!

TC Pro are my go to shoe for long routes and crack climbs where you'll be wearing the shoe all day. They are super comfortable yet perform phenomenally on thin edging, cracks of all sizes and stem corners. They soften up a little as they get broken in and mold nicely to your foot. I typically size these two whole EU sizes down from my street shoe size for a nice combo of a performance to comfort shoe.

Great for granite climbing

I have been using TC Pro's almost since I started climbing. Its a shoe that is good for pretty much every style of climbing. Tho, it really does excel at granite like climbing. They are amazing at crack climbing when worn not-too-tight and perform well at agressive edging when worn tighter. I like the fact they protect ankle in wider cracks. Also, a very supportive shoe that can easily be worn all day.

Outdoor Climbing Essential

These are my favorite climbing shoes by far. They're comfortable for long days, I like that they lace up, and they perform really well. I'm on my second pair, and I know that I'll continue buying these for years and years to come. They're an outdoor climbing essential for me

This shoe is not durable

I got these shoes in preparation for a trip to the Creek in February(2020). A week down there plus a handful of weekends this Spring and I'm looking at torn laces and a toe that's worn to the rand on one shoe. I really enjoyed the fit and versatility of the shoe on everything from limestone cracks to the granite of Acadia - but I really expected more durability from such a popular shoe. Even the Finales lasted longer with more consistent use before needing a resole. I enjoyed these shoes while they lasted, but if they're this poorly constructed to need a resole after a few months then I won't need to be getting another pair.
