La Sportiva Mythos selling features

I've put it through the wringer

A re-edition of the famous Mythos climbing shoe, made for its 95% with eco-friendly materials to minimize the environmental impact. It is the versatile shoe par excellence, suitable for long routes thanks to the exceptionally comfortable fit.

Best purchase

I've put it through the wringer

Made the switch from Evos, takes time to break them in but absolutely love them!

Not as advertised

The fit is not the same as the Methos as they advertise!

I agree, they fill bigger

Great step up from beginner shoes

These are a fabulous step up from my old, beginner shoes. The only complaint is that they take a LONG time to break in.

Perfect All-Around

I've put it through the wringer

I went from wearing the now-discontinued So iLL "Bowler" - a pretty solid beginner shoe - to wearing the very tight, fairly aggressive So iLL "Runner LV". I find the Runner to be pretty comfy, with a decent amount of cushion in the tongue, but these aren't the kind of shoes you can leave on your feet for long periods of time without a break. I was looking for a less aggressive, more all-around kind of shoe (with laces this time around) and the "Mythos Eco" seemed like the perfect shoe. Not only is it a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional leather shoes, but the Eco features a super fun color scheme and a true-to-size fit. I wear an 8.5 in street shoes and I comfortably wear a 39.5 in these shoes. The laces offer a customized fit that you can stand in all day, and there's plenty of precision on the edges for nailing down those microscopic foot holds. This shoe is great for anyone looking to take a break from aggressive styles, as well as beginners testing the waters with how a climbing shoe is supposed to fit. Would recommend to anyone.

Snug but comfortable!

I've used it several times

I was looking to upgrade from my first cheap pair of climbing shoes to a pair that is a) better quality b) a better fit and c) not torture to wear! These shoes are everything I wanted! They fit snugly for more technical climbing (10A-11B/V2-V4 is my current level) and are highly adjustable to make them tight in all the right places. They are also comfortable and don't have to be removed between climbs. And finally, they are made from what seems to be great quality materials that function well. I appreciate that they are eco friendly as well. The only thing I will echo from previous reviewers is that the laces seem cheaper than the non-eco version of shoes and they can stretch and get looser over time while climbing. At times they need to be re-tied halfway through my typical hour long session.

"Eco" Friendly

How does the Eco Mythos sizing/stretch vary from the original Mythos sizing and stretch? It looks like the original mythos are made from suede while the ecos are leather so I wonder if I should upsize a half size or so from my original mythos size to account for less stretch.

It should be the same! I'd expect the stretch to be similar and the paneling/stitching is all the same so I would go for your same size in the original Mythos.
