Lycan GTX Trail Running Shoe

When you're exploring the higher elevations of your local peaks the weather can be awfully fickle, but you'll be prepared for any conditions or terrain in the La Sportiva Lycan GTX Trail Running Shoe. Designed for all-terrain performance and outfitted with a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane, this shoe will continue to deliver steady performance when the skies open up. Your feet will stay dry thanks to the Gore-Tex Extended Comfort lining, and the grippy FiXion AT 2.0 rubber outsole will give you sure-footed traction on muddy trails and wet rock. The upper, along with the Gore-Tex lining, allows for maximum breathability when you start to work up a sweat, and the abrasion-resistant mudguard helps prevent mud from coating and soaking your shoe. You've also got a cushioned EVA midsole for added comfort and shock-absorption, as well as rock protection in the forefoot and underfoot to keep your feet protected from sharp roots and rocks that might be hiding in all that mud.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Lycan is the brand new trail running shoe developed by La Sportiva for running over medium distance, training sessions and skyrunning. A comfortable shoe, ideal for those who love to run off-road .

Comfy and useful

I bought these shoes a couple of months ago and they have help up to some pretty bad conditions good for the winter and spring season when it’s wet.

True to size, great sole!

I haven’t used the non Gore Tex version, but I have found these to be true to size. Really like the sole for running in the snow. These fit wider in the forefoot than my old bushidos and I like them better.

Narrow and Long

The waterproof running shoes run much narrower and longer than the same size in the non-Gore-Tex shoes.

Awesome in Tough Conditions

I got this shoe to replace my aging Speedcross pair and they don't disappoint. 1) Soles are knobby with awesome traction in snow, mud etc, much more so than the regular Lycan. They are comparable to Speedcross soles. 2) Wide toebox is super - this was my biggest complaint of the Speedcross that their toeboxes were way too narrow. 3) Lightweight, easy to break in - so many trail running shoes are very stiff however these are not.

Perfect shoe for rocks and mud!

La Sportiva nailed it with this shoe!!! The cushion and fit of the shoe are perfect for long days on the trail. The lugs are perfect for the mud and can accept the hobnails! The traction is incredible and the shoe keeps your feet nice and dry in wet, muddy conditions!! It's the Jeep Wrangler of shoes!!! It is a great trail runner or hiker!!!
