Almost perfect for me 4.5 stars

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got these on sale a few months back and used them to summit St helens last weekend. Probably overkill for the mountain but it was cold and I wanted to see how they did. 0 issues with water coming into the boot even postholing in the afternoon. Not sure if people are putting them in liquid water or what but they're definitely not designed for that. The boa system is amazing, didn't have to adjust it once over an 8 hour hike. The boots themselves are very comfortable, didn't break them in at all and had 0 blisters or hotspots. The only negative was my toes did get pretty cold at the summit, I was hoping these would be warmer than my Nepal evos but I'm not so sure. Maybe should've sprung for the g2s idk. Overall very happy and I'm sure these will do great for volcano season in the spring and summer. Might have to get a double boot for winter climbing though.

My go to mountain boot

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This has become my go to boot for ice climbing and guiding on glaciers. It’s by far the most comfortable mountain boot I’ve owned. These keep my feet warm and comfortable all day no matter if I’m climbing all day or standing and teaching all day. My feet have always stayed dry despite occasionally walking through deep glacier slush and running water. They’re also incredibly light. Love this boot!

Vertical monster

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'm reviewing this boots after buying my second pair of them (nothing wrong with the last pair, but I like them a lot and would like to have an extra one) I'm not going to extend on the climbing performance of this boot, It's simply the best performing boot in the market when it comes to the vertical world, it climbs ice superbly and even the rock performance is amazing due to it's low weight and great fit that makes it very precise; alpine ridges also feel super comfortable, they walk great, even for a super technical boot. I'm in love with the BOA lacing system, we all know that feeling of pain when trying to lace up boots with frozen hands, forget about that with this boot, and the boa provides a very quick and precise fit (also very durable, I know some people are skeptical about it's durability, but it's pretty much bombproof, and the newer 2019 model has a reinforcement in the boa area, adding for further protection, you can see in the picture I uploaded). Warmth wise I've used this boot down to -20°C without problem, pair them with a nice pair of socks and you'll have boots for everything but the coldest mountains in the world (say denali, aconcagua, himalayas, etc) When it comes to the sizing, I'm a very standard 7.5 US Men, I've ordered this boots in 40EU and they fit perfectly, I've used them with my warmest socks (smart wool mountaineer) and they feel snug but not cramped, perfect technical fit. They also feel super good with a bit more classic, less volume, mountaineering socks. Bottom line for the fit, they feel true to size, as long as you're not one of those who likes their mountaineering boots with tons of space. In that case you might wanna look for other kinds of boots, because ultra technical boots like this must have a good precise fit. I haven't had any issues with the leaking some people mentioned but I haven't walked through deep puddles with them yet. Bottom line: If you want an ultra technical boot for ice climbing and general mountaineering that's super light, climbs like there's no tomorrow and that's also comfortable and techy, this is are the boots for you. If you can't climb in these, you can't climb.
