    Love 'em

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 43.5/10.5

I bought this boot recently and have hiked in them in many conditions from ice to snow to rain. The first few hikes left a few tender spots but nothing major. By the third hike the boats seem to have broken in and all has been great since. They have great traction in every condition, good support, and are very comfortable. I love them and look forward to getting after some longer hikes as the weather turns warmer.

    Good, Comfortable Boot

My husband had a pair of these that lasted about 4(ish) years. Not bad considering how much wear he put on them. We had gotten him another boot/brand and while comfortable at first they made him long for the LaSportiva Eco GTX boot he had had. Got him another pair AND the same in a GTX shoe version and he is a most happy man again. Happy husband, happy hiking!

    Solid all-around boot

These guys are really rad and fit very comfortably. Blisters were never an issue and the blend of leather and nylon makes for a durable and breathable body with good ankle support. I haven't had issues with leakage, but for any snowy conditions I'd recommend something with a bit more insulation. The eco sole is a really cool idea, but I have noticed it breaks down a tad bit quicker than I am used to with non-recycled material. This is not an issue for me because I think the cause is worth the cost.

    Solid all-around boot

    Great boot, short life

I'm currently on my second pair of these boot because they are so comfortable and light. I've used them anywhere from trying to do a speedy afternoon hike, to extended backpacking trips. They do not need to be broken in, meaning right of the bat they're good to go. The only disadvantage to these boots is there durability. The sole wears out pretty quickly as well as the leather on the sides starts wearing pretty good. Anyways I've bought two pairs of these bad boys because I love them, but if your looking for something to last you a long time you may want to steer in another direction.

    Good for its current purpose

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am actually returning these, strange for a 3-star review, which is a cross between a 2 and a 4-star. I was looking for a replacement for its prior model from about 8 years ago that I loved and wore out, mostly elk hunting in western CO. They have chopped about 1 inch off the top of the boot, leaving only one eyelet above the ankle joint. Going off-trail, where we hunt, would result in lots of snow, rain, mud, weed seeds, etc. over the top down into the boot. There is also less ankle support for climbing rocks, bushwhacking, etc. 2-stars at best. The boot is clearly now intended for trail-hiking and it is well-designed for that purpose, light, good looking and well-fabricated. Sort of a super hiking shoe. 4-stars. Just know where you are heading when you consider this boot.

    Felt good at first

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

There was very little break in time..boot fit well and felt good during my first time out in them. Traction was good. After a few uses, hard bumps began to develop in the footbed..was actually coming up from the sole. Made for very uncomfortable footwear and caused soreness in my back after using them while the bumps were in. Unfortunately, the return process seems to have changed and I could not get any help with replacing them. Stopped wearing them after 2 months. Sucks to save money for some new boots then have the rug pulled out from under you. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone who plans to actually use them as hiking boots. Unless it is for one hike.

    Comfy but not hardwearing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

They are great to wear right out of the box, and they stay functional for a decent period of time, but they look scruffy quite fast. Good enough that I bought a second pair, but the rubber toe cap peels after a few trips, and the finish on the leather means they looks well-used very fast and aren't really wearable around town after a few walks. I should say I go off-track a fair bit.

    Love these boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Bought these boots a week ago and have worn them everyday. I love them. whether in the mountains or in the city they are incredibly comfortable, light and water proof. They provide enough flexibility throughout the boot to wear everyday like I have been. A great boot!

    great first impressions

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I have had a blister problem in my last two pairs of boot. I have narrow feet in a 11.5. these boots seem to be a very great fit like a hiking shoe should... theyre not too tough feeling but seem to be a sturdy hiker. quality seems to be good- ive never had La sportive shoes or boots before.

    Loved them...just a tad narrow

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

I ordered these boots in a 46.5 (12.5 US) because I would normally wear a 12 in regular shoes and a 13 in boots. They appeared to be really well made and looked sweet too. They fit true to size, but were a little narrow in the mid foot. The toe box and heel fit very nicely. However, I have a slightly wide foot, and after wearing them inside for a little bit, they made my mid foot ache. I returned them, but if you have a normal to narrow foot then you will love these!

    Good boot for the price

Nice boots! Excellent for me and my narrowish feet! They held up well after much casual as well as actual trail use. I wore them alone in warm seasons as well as with crampons during winter time. They also kept my feet warm and dry when paired with another favorite backcountry product, Darn Tough socks.

      Chinese Version < Indonesia Version

When these debut years ago, I bought a pair at Paragon Sports in NYC. Wore them literally every day with exceptions here and there. Hiked Appalachian, Rocky Mountain National Park, Extensive S. Utah. Great boots for a narrow foot, eyelits are very durable (allow for a runner's knot to boot) I beat the shit out of these boots and they lasted me just under 2 years. They are easy to clean, flex well, have a good brake and good overall padding on the tongue/ankles/heel. However, if your heavy I would assume the ball area of the shoe might be a weak point. Orthotics fit well. These were manufactured in Indonesia. The current ones selling at are made in China (at least in the size I bought). There is a difference; padding on the tongue is less generous, shoe in general feels looser, little build quality differences that are noticeable when you go from one to the other. Unfortunate. Typical manufacturing cost dilemma. The shoe is not what it once was. But, it is still a very well made shoe. Worth 175.., probably not if they continue making it over in China... Hint, hint LA SPORTIVA.

I walked the Inka Trail with these boots and found them to be generally comfortable with minimum break-in. Two things however: one, the midsole needs to be replaced as it is too thin in the forefoot area. It felt like nothing and I replaced them when I got back. Two, it is easy to over tighten and experience pain on the crown of the foot. I solved this with a modified lace track.
