Before I bought these jeans, I searched for reviews that would let me know if they run true to size and whether or not they shrink in the dryer. I couldn't find any. So hopefully the following information is helpful to someone else. I am 6'1" ish 160lbs and usually order a 32 inch waist. A medium fits me spot on for what I am looking for. As far as shrinking in the wash, they don't. Potentially, they might have shrunk a tiny bit, it was really hard to tell; but after wearing them out of the dryer, they are back to feeling and looking exactly the way that they did out of the package. They have a soft feel and are stretchy with movement. Coincidentally, I spend 90% of my climbing days in the fall, winter and early spring in Eldorado Canyon and I will likely wear these pants on some of those days. You could definitely wear them to work, drive into the canyon, and go climbing without giving it a second thought.
