A trail-fighting shoe for your trail-warrior ways.

Supported by the La Sportiva Women's Bushido Trail Running Shoe, you are the ultimate modern woods warrior. You rip off 7-minute miles when trouncing technical terrain. This shoe grinds over jagged shards of boulders and hugs your foot so the only slipping you encounter is from a bit of spilled milk in the kitchen before your run. The unique lug design means every step you take moves you in the right direction with nary a hint of slippage.
A refreshing blend of air mesh, thermal microfiber, and gnarly ripstop make the upper a breath-giving experience. The TPU toe cap protects your digits from damaging encounters with brutal trail trash. STB Control construction wraps a TPU frame around your upper foot, creating sensational synergy between the midsole and the top of the shoe. This design firmly holds your foot in place for sure-footed stepping when you're tackling a steep mountain path. The compression-molded, dual-density EVA midsole softens the ride without interfering with ground communication.
The minimal 14.5mm stack height keeps your foot close to the earth, and a 6mm drop doesn't leave you tip-toeing above the tree line. Up front, a rock guard stands at attention to protect your foot from bruising tree limbs. The FriXion XT outsole redefines sticky grip. The Impact Brake System takes the grabby rubber and turns it into rounded lugs rising up and around the midsole. Friction increases on inclines, and your foot maintains continual contact with the ground.

Great Trail Shoe!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased these for my spouse and she is thrilled with them. She's used them for trail running and hiking and is very happy with the comfort, weight, traction and durability of the shoe and highly recommends them for anyone looking to start trail running!

Great fit and very comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got these for my girlfriend and she says-
Great fit and true to size. Very comfortable. Sole is a bit chunky for a running shoe but gets the job done.

Sister Approved

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got these for my sister and she had this to say about them:
"These shoes are super grippy, light, and comfortable. I've used them for both hiking and trail running, and they are perfect. The sizing chart is pretty accurate--I wear a 7.5 to 8 in women's and the 39s fit just right. And aesthetically, the grey/mint are on point. "

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are my favorite pair of trail runners. I thought they were comfortable right out of the box. They're a nice slim profile and lightweight too, which is great for me because I hate wearing chunky shoes. I've never had any issues with slippage. Having gone from a pair that were totally busted to these it's great to be able to confidently run down steep gravely hills. I wear a 7.5 pretty consistently in all shoes and got these in a 39 which is 7.5+

Love me the Bushido

    LaSportiva Bushido
This is my 5th pair of Bushidos. I LOVE them. They are durable, super grippy on unstable terrain and light as a feather. I have a wide forefoot and narrow heels...they fit me great! Highly recommend for technical trials in dry weather.

    Hard rubber is slippery, dangerous

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wanted to write a review that counter-balances all the amazing reviews of this shoe. I find the Bushidos are really comfortable (and cute!) for my narrow-ish feet, and I like that there is a bit of a heel drop as I tend to get achilles' tendon issues otherwise, but I think these shoes are best for trails with loose gravel or nice single track. They are NOT good for hopping through Boulder fields or rocky alpine environments. The rubber is just too hard, and I have slipped a few times in them including once descending from Torrey's peak, and I ended up smashing up my shin pretty badly. I have never slipped so much in other running shoes. I live in Boulder and frequently scramble (unroped) several of the easier flatirons in my trail shoes. These shoes made me feel nervous on the 2nd flatiron, which is really just a steep hike. The Salomon Speedcross, by comparison, never gave me trouble on the 2nd flatiron. Fine, you might say, these are not shoes meant for scrambling and climbing. But the harder rubber has made me slip while jumping across large boulder fields in alpine environments as well. They are so slippery that I don't feel safe in them. These are for low-angle trails, not technical environments and I'll continue to wear them for easy trails, but I will not take them into alpine environments or out on a day when conditions might be wet. That just gives me the shivers!

Finally, I thought that it is worth mentioning that the lugs protrude beyond the edge of the shoe on the inner forefoot. I have muscular calves and tend to brush them in my running gait, but the hard rubber and protruding nature of these lugs means that I often return from run with actual abrasions on the inside of my calves. Again, not an issue I've had in any other running shoe.

    My favorite trail shoes ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been a trail runner for ten years and this is my favorite shoe yet. The soles are grippy. The material is airy. The shoes are light weight. I have narrow feet and I've always thought my toes are too roomy in my shoes and the laces too tight, but these shoes fit my feet really well. These are perfect for my feet.

    Best trail shoe ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have looked at so many different trail running shoes, and the Bushido's fit my foot the best. I originally got these two years ago and wore them out until there was no tread and they were falling apart. I love them because they fit my foot perfectly! I have a wider foot around the toes and a relatively narrow heel, so it can be a struggle finding shoes that fit in the toes and don't slip in the heel. I also run in the Salomon speedcross 4, which are great, but my heel tends to slip if I'm running on flat terrain. These LaSpos though.. .they're magic.

For sizing, I think they run pretty true to size. My first original pair was a size 40 -- which was a whole size too big! But I loved them so much and was too lazy to return them, so I endured slightly too large shoes for way too long haha. This time around, I ordered a 38.5. It was a tad small (only about a 1/2 thumbs width from toes to end of shoe). I went up a half size to a 39 and they fit perfectly! :D For reference, I wear a 7.5 in street shoes and Salomon. A EU 39 is a 7.5+ in US sizes.

    Finally, the perfect shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Until recently, I had never purchased trail running shoes. My search for trail running shoes began because I signed up for my first OCR. I went to a great shoe store and had my feet measured and analyzed, all the fancy stuff. I must have tried on 15 pairs of trails running shoes-and I hated them all. I began to think that all trail running shoes were going to feel like clown shoes-huge!. I also had a problem with the shape of the toe box on many shoes, and I felt that the outside of my big toe rubbed in an unhappy way. The nice man at the shoe store provided a list of shoes that I might order from the internet (based on the fact that I wanted light shoes without a lot of bulk and/or cushion-I wanted to feel at least marginally close to planet Earth but still have that "grip" sensation that I hoped came with trail running shoes ). Per his suggestions, I ordered a pair of Nike Wildhorse shoes (I have narrow feet and usually wear Nike brand shoes for the gym/daily wear). I also ordered a pair of Salomon Speedcross shoes per the suggestion of a runner friend. Both pairs of shoes arrived at my house, and I tried them on-and I hated them both. CLOWN SHOES! I thought I was doomed. I had purchased the Nike shoes from Backcountry. When I called with a question about returns, I spoke to an awesome guy named Travis. Travis really listened to me. He knew that I wanted a narrow, comfortable, lightweight, quick-dry trail running shoe (appropriate for mud-heavy OCR racing). He suggested the La Sportiva Bushido shoes. I agreed to try them, and Travis was nice enough to place the order right away. I did not have high hopes-I had pretty much given up by the time these shoes arrived to my house. I decided that I would wear Nike Frees for my first OCR (not ideal, but comfortable at least). Then, I tried on the Bushidos and hooray! I finally found the perfect shoe. I have not run my OCR yet, but I have trained many miles in these shoes, and they are great. Pros: They look cool. They are fairly light. They are fairly flexible (less so than the shoes I am used to wearing, but I think that's because they are supposed to protect my feet from roots, rocks, and the like). They dry quickly. They are versatile enough to wear to the gym when I forget my other shoes. They don't slip on my heel. They were easy to break in. Cons: They give me trouble during rope climbs (not really their intended use, so cannot complain too much...).

I usually wear size 8.5 shoes, but I wear a 9 (EUR 40.5) in these shoes.

I would like to thank Backcountry, Travis, and La Sportiva for finally connecting me to trail running shoes that don't make me feel like I belong in the circus! Hooray and good day!

These have great traction! They are probably one of the top trail running shoes out there in my opinion. At first they felt a little tight and I was thinking I should go up a half size, but once I used them I was glad I stuck with my true size. I am normally a 6.5-7 depending on the type of shoes. In these I got a 7.

      My everyday shoe!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Can I just say... I LOVE THESE.
I use these for everything. Obviously these are for trail running but they are also just so comfortable that I wear them just about everywhere. I have used them in the gym and outside and they have also held up amazing. Wish they came in more colors! I am usually a 7 but I purchased a 7.5 (38.5 European)
Fresh out of the box they do feel a bit tight in the heels but they end up fitting amazing as you use them.

      Love These!!

I just got these to replace my Salomons after they stopped making the Fellraiser and I can't believe it took me that long to switch! These are great shoes, with minimal drop and excellent traction! I'm so excited to make these my go to sneakers!

        Kick A!!!

Thank you La Sportiva for making a shoe I can both trail run the steep terrain in the Wasatch and feel completely at ease on a technical scramble. These trail runners are comfortable. I've put them through the wringer and they have held up beautifully.

          Killer trail shoes

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Size Bought: 40.5
          • Height: 5'3"
          • Weight: 125lbs

I got these for my GF. These are her third pair of Bushidos. They are by far her favorite go to shoe for long and technical trail running and racing!

          Lightweight Runners

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: 37.0
          • Height: 5'1"
          • Weight: 100lbs

I have owned La Sportiva running shoes before and have gotten a size 5.5 which I usually am, in most brands, but in these I went with a 37.0 = 6.0 and they fit great, a little room in the toe for the descent..lightweight with good traction. My foot is small , with a high arch and wide toe box..and these hug my foot in a great way.

Great trail running and hiking shoe

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: 37.5
          • Height: 5'2"
          • Weight: 110lbs

I've read about this La Sportiva shoe for years (including its previous iterations). It was recommended as a shoe to climb Grand Teton and I've been fascinated ever since. When it was pushed to me via email as on sale, I finally took the plunge and am so glad I did. It fits like a glove and holds my foot (prone to pronation) securely in all the right ways. The sizing was a little small for me; I'm a 6 or 6.5 in US sizes and even the 37.5 is cutting it close. For my next pair, I may try the 38 to see if it makes a difference, but I've been doing fine in this size. I've worn these rock scrambling, running, and even through some creeks and have been impressed by the grip both dry and wet. Can't wait to take them on a weekend backpacking trip to really test them out, but so far, so, so good.

          Badass Shoe

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size

I got these as a gift for my girlfriend, and she loves running in them. Super comfortable fit and they grip like mad on looser trail runs. Highly recommended by her.

When will you have these in size 41?

          Best Answer

          Hey Lupita,

It looks like we have not ordered any additional sizes of the Bushido Trail Running Shoes from La Sportiva which means there is no timeline for when we might have a size 41 available.

Feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss some similar Trail Runners or have any additional questions about La Sportiva Shoes.
