These pants have fantastic materials and fit and a decent amount of features. The water resistance is marginal but they dry quickly. The pair I got had no size issues like other people seem to have. The reason these aren't my favorite is because of the absolutely terrible front button. It's some sort of weak circle aperture with zero clasping ability. It does not stay closed if any pressure is put on it. If it pops open then the whole zipper unzips immediately. If I unzip the zipper? The button snaps open with zero resistance. You are required to wear these with a belt. I'm tempted to just cut the thing off and replace it with a normal pants button. Considering what you pay for these it's a crime.

Good fit, good materials, lack a feature

I purchased these for use as travel pants. The fabric looks nice, feels soft against the skin, seems pretty breathable. The fit is good - enough room for my thighs, length and waist true to size. Nice, yeah? Well, sadly no. The pants lack an essential feature of travel pants for me: no pocket closures. Two typical front pockets, two rear patch pockets, and an inset pocket on each side. These last are positioned well for a mobile phone, fit my iPhone 7 well, and would probably fit a larger phone as well. But all are open pockets. I like a zippered or flapped pocket for my wallet and my phone. So they went back. It the open pockets don't bother you, check these out 'cause other than my pocket gripe I think these are well designed.

Totally agree, it's why I didn't buy these. The Silencr Convertible pants are the same style, but have zippered thigh pockets and snap closure back pockets. And the major difference is they obviously convert to shorts, which is a feature I was looking for. A bit more expensive overall, but worth it. Oddly, Backcountry doesn't seem to carry them which is unfortunate because I'm looking for another pair.

The Silercr fabric doesn't wrinkle and works great for travel. I agree on pocket closures. You might consider the Silencr Guide pants which are loaded with zippered closures. I don't think they are currently available at Backcountry. While I prefer doing business with Backcountry, recently bought a second pair directly from Kuhl. JB
