I am big jeans guy- love denim. These however, are gusseted and articulated- way more movement than jeans. Very durable- I have gone up and down (and slid) mountains, tons of yard work, woods walks, through brush, rain, snow, raining snow, cleaned stalls, all seasons with these. Had some pairs for 4 years and they still look good (color definitely fades though). Accidentally put a hole the size of a nickle in one of them almost 4 years ago, still the size of a nickle today. I own 9 pairs of these and only 2 pairs of jeans(1pair is on its last legs though(pun not initially intended)). My brother has put even more miles on his and they hold up just fine. I have thick legs and the 40x32s fit great. Most other clothing companies are way too tight, can't move if I can even get them on. These would be my apocalypse pants, but I would really like to the forest firefighter pants- COAXSHER Citadel: kevlar, nomex, etc. but they're $330 a piece...maybe someday. I highly suggest these to anyone. 6'3" 270lbs 40x32 shoe14wide neck17.5 jacket 48 long

I also have the same issue with these pants I taken back to pears and the third pair still does the same thing so at this point I'm going to contact the manufacturer and tell them about this product and see what they are going to do the pants fit great what are very comfortable but it kind of sucks having to keep snapping them all day long

I bought my first two pairs of these pants last year and wore one pair to the bones working. They were great pants, not as tough as duck cloth work pants, but much more comfortable. Because of this, I ordered two more pairs last month and got them, and am disappointed. They have changed both the cut and fabric since last year. They are now much less tapered through the calves and fit much looser. The fabric is also both thinner and stiffer. Overall much less comfortable and well fitting than my original pairs.

Just got these pants the other day, and like them a lot so far - pretty sturdy right out the packaging, but I'm imagining after some breaking in I will love them. Versatile for casual use as well as getting out into the mountains or on trails. They do have a relaxed fit, so a little more of a laid back style. So far so good. I'd recommend.

Ok, so I do olympic lifts in the gym. I have a butt, thick calves, and thighs. These pants are roomy, but not baggy. Pant manufactures seem to favor the jr high school boys, with no muscle or contours on their frame. I am not in this category. I lift heavy, bike hard, and have developed legs and butt that need space in pants to breathe. So many times when trying on pants I can't get them over my calves. These pants are for the not-so-little men. They are really durable and allow movement with bending down or articulating. They seem to run a bit long. I usually wear a 34 length, and find a 32 fits me better than a 34. The waist seems to be sized true to size. Great pants for non skinny jeans type build.

Love these pants. The fabric is great - they wear really well. The articulated knees are great! These pants do fit a little more lose than probably a 501 jean if you like that skinnier fit, but they do offer a slimmer fit.

These are my go to climbing pants. They are tough for rubbing up against the rock. They have a baggier fit than the lawless pant. More room to stretch my legs for a smoother climb. Pockets are nice and deep, I can’t stand pants that my phone falls out of the pocket, these pants work great.

I am a big Kuhl fan, their products consistently show good design, great materials, and high-quality construction. These pants do not disappoint. Typical Kuhl freedom of movement and comfort. The material is a fairly tight and heavy canvas-like fabric, which has a great finish and should hold up well as well as providing good protection from winter winds on my frequent hikes here in the high desert of northern New Mexico. My only disappointment is partly my fault, I've gained a few pounds around the middle and I find that the snap closure pops open. There isn't a secondary button closure as on some Kuhl pants. Good motivation to crank up the hiking and get rid of a few extra pounds, but i wish the closure had a bit more staying power.

RYDR pant 1 year review

I‘ve had these pants as work pants and general every day pants for at least a year now. Iâve worn them hundreds of times and the actual pants themselves are hanging in great. The material is tough and withstands tears very well. The cuffs are the most worn. Overall the pants hold up great and âpatinaâ well in the wash. My greatest issue with these pants is the pockets. They were torn to shreds in the first month! The right pocket that I keep my wallet in now has a hole at the pitting that I can fit 4 fingers through. The left pocket has a two finger hole near the top. For pants made of such resilient material I expected the pockets to be able to handle some use! The first tear was in the left pocket where I kept my small light. I believe that the material in the pockets is very susceptible to abrasion from objects in the pockets. Honestly the pockets are the only thing keeping me from buying more pairs. That said if you donât plan to wear these every day or donât have âsharpâ objects in your pockets you should definitely try a pair.

Hey guys, I'm a big fan of the material...
Hey guys, I'm a big fan of the material that Kuhl uses and the styling looks excellent, however the last pair of pants a bought from them also had the snap button at the waist (ridiculous in my opinion on a rugged pant) anyway, I used them for working outdoors and every time I would bend over the button would pop, not convenient when wearing gloves. Any chance they improved the design at all over the last year or two? or are they still popping open when you bend over? Thanks for the input in advance! P.S. Im relatively fit and have no beer belly to speak of, so that's not my issue.

Hi Miguel. I work for Kühl am writing to answer your question. Your pair of pants with the weak snap has indeed been updated. We had Fiochi, the Italian maker of our snap, re-engineer the snap for us with an improved, stronger spring. The new spring and snap design by Fiocchi takes care of the issue you mention. (contact us at cutomerservice@kuhl.com for a repair/replacement. Simply describe your issue to one of our representatives.) Hope this helps. Thanks for admiring our materials and designs. BTW: Want to know why we use a Fiochi snap? Our snaps are designed to lay flat and not "dig" into your waist (think of the typical jean button fly with its rivet-stem-button.) When you wear a belt or a backpack with a belt, the Fiochi flat snap will prove itself to you! Cheers~ Kühl Social Media

O they updated the spring alright! Now it's almost too hard to open. I always have to yank my crotch every time I undo these. I'm not the biggest fan of the button... However, these are excellent pants besides that small factor.

I just received a pair of Khaki Rydr's....too bad the "khaki" color is more of a green! Anybody else run into this? See the attached pic. FYI: That's a green couch and a khaki colored blanket in the background. Great pants nonetheless....

Kuhl is known for there excellent customer service. I think on their web site they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It's like, if you are not satisifed, I think even with color, you could exchange them on a return. I am not sure if they take them from Backcountry, you could ask backcountry if they would exchange the color becuase BCountry is good about returns too. I have the khakis and like the vintage dye fade, river washed fabric on the RYDR,each one is unique.

Yeah. Gotta agree that the "Khaki" is not really khaki. Or at least, what most people mean by khaki: i.e. pale beige. More gray with a hint of green in there. But I like the color. YMMV.

Just almost everyone is... Kuhl Stocks 34" and 36" inseams on their website though, maybe just order directly from them?
