Renegade 8in Short

Seeing as there's no limit to your adventurous mindset, why hold yourself back with a restrictive short? The Kuhl Men's Renegade 8in Short breaks free from the confines of urban life with its free-ranging stretch that's ideal for long days at the crag and laid-back trips to the coast. The gusseted crotch promotes fluid motion when you're placing tricky footholds on route or pedaling to the water on your beach cruiser.

Tufflex fabric calls for rugged adventures with its sturdy construction that's resistant to abrasion and tears. It's treated with a DWR finish that beads off passing showers and outside dirt from soaking and staining. Another innovative feature is the Kuhlair vent, which employs a mesh-lined pocket cool air circulation inside the short. It even protects your lower body from harmful UV rays, as backed by its UPF 50 rating.

Large Rise

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
36
Height:
5' 6"
Weight:
215

I’m a short kind of fat thick guy, and the rise on these shorts made them a crazy fit for me. The zipper was probably 5” too long for my build at 5’6”. To have them fall above the knee as intended, the waist was above my diaphragm.

Excellent pair of Shorts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
33W and 8”inseam
Height:
5' 11"
Weight:
165

These shorts are very good in all aspects of use and wear. Tightly woven material is a great blend of toughness and comfort, offering ample stretch and nice ?feel? against the skin; these shorts dry overnight after washing. These shorts are not ?ultra lightweight? but not ?heavy? either, but a good balance of a weave that can tolerate the abuses of the elements, yet with an attractive appearance. Leg opening diameter is good and the inseam length is great for walking and are comfortable to swim in; no water absorption. Pocket configuration is optimal; zipockets hold a cellphone no problem. The front snap is a bit overly heavy duty and can offer resistance to being pulled apart/opened... but it?s really not a problem. Overall: UBER!

Almost perfect but runs small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it
Size Bought:
34
Height:
6' 2"
Weight:
180

Purchased for husband for father's day but they are smaller in waist than all his other shorts. He's 6'2" and 180. Our daughter purchased a similar pair, same size (34) but a different brand and the Kuhls are 2 inches smaller in the waist. He recently retired a pair of Kuhls he bought 11 years ago and has worn consistently throughout every summer for hiking, kayaking and general use. My husband loved everything about these so he asked me to get the next size up despite a new similar pair from another brand. He says you can't beat the quality and features of Kuhl!
