If it Kuats like a duck…

We won't say that Kuat makes the best bike racks out there, but we see more than a few of them and think that popularity probably speaks for itself. Take the Trio Fork Mount Roof System, for example. Most fork-mounted racks only really work with quick-release axles—although a dedicated rider can fandangle a thru-axle workaround—but the Trio has a special design that holds quick-releases and thru-axles with equal ease and security. It's also compatible 9mm, 15mm, and 20mm axles, so it'll hold just about any bike in your fleet. You can even get a separate accessory that lets you mount up your fat bike. There's an integrated cable lock, too, which locks the frame and rear wheel to the rack so you can grab a gas station coffee without worrying about your ride getting lifted.

    Overall? "eh"

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So, let me preface by saying I'm a Kuat fanboy for the most part and also own an NV 2 hitch mount rack. That said, I'm less enthused overall with these. First is something I overlooked but is still a bummer and thats that a boost TA adapter isn't included so as of right now I cant use this for getting to and from the trail.

Second, the QR options is well built but takes A LOT of adjustment to get from clamping a fork in to back the other way and keeping the clamp from rattling when no bike is in the unit. A small issue but kind of annoying when you forget to open it all the way and you're balancing the bike on the roof and seemingly, endlessly, opening up the clamp.

Overall though they have that Kuat build quality that is second to none. If you aren't super picky like me on the above, disregard my nitpicking and enjoy a well built product.

This rack will get you many women

Not only does this rack look fly as hell on top of my murdered out adventure-Jetta but it includes the pieces you need to convert it from QR to 15mm or even 20mm through-axle AND it has an integrated lock. You don't get included features like that on other rack systems. (*cough*Thule*)

    Great rack...

I got this rack to replace an older Yakima brand rack that would mount on Yakima bars. I was very pleased to find that it mounted perfectly and was easier to mount than the Yakima rack. I wanted a rack that could accommodate a through fork as well as a quick release without having to add more adapters. This rack delivered perfectly. I have since purchased another to replace my other old Yakima rack.i would definitely recommend to anyone.

    One for all!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

There is no doubt Kuat has a reputation for building bomb proof racks that look amazing. They now offer the legendary performance as a roof package and it works like a dream!

    Roof jewelry!

There's no doubt that anything Kuat makes is a winner. The trio is no exception! Versatile, solidly built and guaranteed to make your roof more attractive! One-rack-for-all is the best feature, as your road, MTB etc will have a secure place to travel.
