Kitsbow King's Ridge Windbreaker - Men's
The ritual of the ride.
The scenic landscape and intermittent grades of King Ridge Road have inspired countless paeans from publications with the California/Colorado bias shared generally by cycling media throughout North America. Kitsbow's decision to name its weather-resistant King's Ridge Men's Windbreaker after that much-touted stretch of asphalt in no way diminishes that praise, but it does suggest that every other cyclist's local roads are no less deserving of praise, adulation, and the pain/pleasure ritual of two-wheeled worship.
The King's Ridge is built from durable, Pertex nylon that's hit with a DWR treatment to offer up a shield against the elements. Its body isn't as snug as a race-day jersey, but it's slim enough to avoid excessive flapping at the sleeves. This fit is offset by the material's mechanical stretch and held in place with knit cuffs and a gripper rear hem.
Kitsbow's signature fetish for fine details surfaces at the color, where an offset zipper and knit lining protect your throat. The brand's finishing panache is also apparent in the convenient chest pocket, which provides storage while the content of your jersey pockets is sheltering under the jacket, and reflective detailing to help keep you visible in the low-light conditions that typically accompany overcast skies. Finally, the jacket's pack-ability also makes it ideal for days when the barometric pressure is as undulating and unpredictable as the often-rolling climbs on its namesake road.
