Conspicuously well designed.
Let’s start with the elephant in the room: the Kitsbow Adjustable Waist Men’s Shorts are expensive. For that type of change, you’d expect them to provide a little bit more than most trail shorts, and they certainly do, starting with the fabric. Kitsbow made the shorts from Schoeller, a water- and wind-resistant softshell fabric that’s as breathable as it is comfortable, perfect for riding on the damp mountains and through the soggy forests of Kitsbow’s BC homebase. The Adjustable Waist Shorts also uses Coldblack technology to reflect the sun’s rays when you pop out of the forest and into the sunshine.
Most of what you’re paying for is thoughtful design and attention to detail, not unnecessary gadgetry. Kitsbow intentionally cut the shorts slim and sleek, so they won’t catch on trailside underbrush, and shaped the rear hems to move smoothly with you as you pedal. The adjustable tabs on the waist hide away so they don’t get unhooked, and four low-profile pockets make life on and off the bike just a little bit easier. Finally, Kitsbow’s clean aesthetics just look damn good, and that’s always a nice feature to include.

- Q & A
Received as a gift
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
These shorts are simply amazing... Are they worth the price though? Hard to say, I received them as a gift and probably would have never sprung for them.
They have a great fit, with a perfect leg taper that's tight enough for the ride (feel efficient), but look normal when you're grabbing a bite and beer after.
The fabric is stretchy, yet very durable, and the adjustable waist is great if you layer up underneath, or if you just happen to drink a few too many beers during the winter season.
I've had these since late 2014 and probably have a couple thousand miles in them... zero complaints, other than of course the price! Having said that, Kitsbow offers a lifetime warranty, so I'm happy.
I have size medium, but would have preferred small... but like I said, adjustable waist.
