Even the warmest days can have nasty weather.

You may only go backpacking or camping when the weather is warm and sunny, but unforeseen weather is always a possibility on every trip. Be prepared this summer with the protection that the Kelty SB 35 Sleeping Bag provides. Kelty filled this bag with 800-fill insulation for an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio that'll keep you surprisingly comfortable when the temperatures dip. The down's DriDown treatment repels moisture so it maintains its heat-trapping loft in rainy weather, and it also helps the bag dry faster in case the down gets wet. Head-2-Toe Dri waterproofing treatment on the shell offers extra protection at the head and foot to help keep you dry in case water seeps through your tent at night. All this, yet it only weighs a little over one pound ... perfect for all you lightweight backpackers out there.

Kelty built the SB 35's shell out of nylon ripstop for lightweight durability, and a softer taffeta lining keeps you cozy all night long. FatMan and Ribbon drawcords let you cinch the thermal-comfort hood across your head, and the top draft collar and draft tube along the zipper prevent any cold air from creeping into the bag. The dual-sliding zipper locks in place and won't snag, and the toebox has a roomy design so your feet don't feel scrunched. Kelty included a stuff sack as well as a mesh storage sack to prolong the bag's life when you aren't using it.

    Ultrapackable warmth

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just got back from 3 nights in the Wind River Range and this bag truly impressed me. I needed something light that wouldn't take up too much room in my pack, but also keep me warm in the crazy weather known to the Winds. The nightly temperatures ranged from 20-45 degrees and I was very cozy in this bag every night. In 45 degrees I slept with an arm out of the bag and the night it got to 20 I had the mummy hood cinched around my face to stay warm. My tent-mate was quite envious of how comfortable I was and amazed that it packed down to the size of a soccer ball.

    This sleeping bag is great!

-Compresses super small and is really light weight.

-The material is soft and slippery.

-My mom wasn't a big fan of it being slippery but I liked it.

-It was pretty amazing how small it could compress.

-I had the regular size and it worked okay especially for warmer weather.

-I had a little bit of trouble cinching down the draft collar.

-OH! The compression sack it came with was rad. It has clips on two sides compared to other compression sacks that don't have clips. The clips make it easier to open and close! That was a big feature that I liked!

In the photo on the right is actually my Kelty Little Tree 20 degree bag that is not the greatest for backpacking due to weight and size. The one on the right is THIS sleeping bag!!!! Then the other compression is just my clothes!

Slept under the stars in this bag! :)
