Lofty synthetic warmth for youthful explorers.
Prepare your young adventurer for a comfortable night's rest on your camping trips with the Kelty Boys' Little Tree 20 Sleeping Bag. Its CloudLoft synthetic insulation is lofty for his comfort and compressible for your convenience, and it keeps him warm in temps as low as 20-degrees Fahrenheit. With a slightly wider shape than adult mummy bags, this bag accommodates the wiggliest boys without loosing the warmth benefits of the mummy shape. Kelty made this bag with a soft taffeta fabric to keep him nice and cozy, and the flip-over hood can either lie flat if he doesn't want it or cinch across his head with the FatMan and Ribbon drawcords. The dual-sliding zipper has a draft tube so he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night from chilly breezes, and a stuff sack helps you get his bag to and from the campsite.

Perfect starter bag
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I just bought two of these for our little groms to start camping. Our 4 year old absolutely loves it. He sleeps in it every night, camping or not. It does seem substantial enough that it will keep him warm close to the advertised 20 degree mark. Due to the nature of being synthetic, this bag isn't very compressible. I would recommend buying a compression bag to use in lieu of the provided stuff sack if you need to save space.
Great sleeping bag
This is a great sleeping bag for children. My nephews love these sleeping bags, they keep them warm and are super cozy. Highly recommend getting this bag for your children, nephews/nieces, and small friends.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
After a difficult night in Bryce Canyon, I decided I should not abuse my toddler anymore and get a proper sleeping bag. Blankets just don't do it for a squirmy little baby. But last I checked, they don't make bags for children under 3ft. So I went with a youth bag thinking i could fold the excess. Well, I never got to try. Grandpa showed up with an RV and mommy elected to sleep the baby in there instead of the tent with the grizzlies in Yellowstone.
But, a failed heater in Uncle's (this was an extended family trip) pop-up left a cousin frozen and miserable. So the bag went to him. Four nights in it with on cool nights with lows in the low 40s left no complaints.
So while it didn't keep my kid warm, it did do its job for a 10 year old.
I'd love to get a feather bag so dad doesn't have to hump this thing. It's 3lbs and packs down to the size of my bag, meaning I can't get away with a 50L pack anymore. Still have a few more years before he can hike on his own anyway, so we're car camping for now. I guess it's a fine compromise.
Tough kids need cuddly bags!
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Scored this bag with an excellent coupon from backcountry for my nephew on his 6th birthday. The boy was stoked! He's been backpacking and camping a lot with my husband and our little family and soon to be starting cub scouts! We've used the bag 3 times 1 time below 20 and he was toasty warm! Thanks backcountry!
No one will ever know its a little boys!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I know this may be for a kid...but I am certainly no longer a kid!
-I am a really short woman about 5'1.
-I decided to buy this since its for 5'4ft and it was a lot cheaper than purchasing an adult bag.
-I did not want all the extra foot space in an adult bag.
-Its a great comfortable bag and comes with a stuff sack.
-I have been meaning to buy a compression sack for it because it does not compress very small in the stuff sack if you are going backpacking.
-I absolutely adore the trees on it :)
- One night while camping, my boyfriend and I wanted to zip our sleeping bags together so we could have more body heat.....Unfortunately this bag only zipped to half of his North Face bag. I do not know if it could zip to other bags??
-Keeps me warm in cold temps!
Great kids sleeping bag!
My 4 year old son absolutely loves his Kelty Little Tree sleeping bag. Yes it is twice as long as him but he'll have it for years to come and this thing is just as well made, warm and comfortable as dads and comes with a stuff sack.

With all the features of an adult bag, these sleeping bags are sized and styled to keep them warm and comfortable on any overnight adventure
I am 5'3", would I be too tall for this?...
I am 5'3", would I be too tall for this? Also, is this an ok bag for the summer? Thanks!!
Your toes might touch the end when you fully stretch out, but should fit.
According to the manufacturer's rating this should be fine for anybody's summer, but that is all relative to the temperature at which you are sleeping. Kids bags in my opinion aren't as exacting with the temperature rating, although my daughter's sierra designs bag has run true to rating...
