    Winterhaven Waterproof Boot

The Keen Winterhaven Waterproof Boot truly is a haven for your foot when winter threatens to do its worst. From the seam-sealed, leather upper that prevents moisture from sneaking in to the Keen.Warm insulation that traps in heat to keep your toes from getting chilled, this boot is designed to protect you in cold, wet conditions without being a clunky mess. Its oiled leather exterior gives it a sleek look that will be welcome anywhere in the city, and the addition of hiking-inspired D-ring eyelets help these boots stand out from the crowd. Keen even gave the Winterhaven a Cleansport NXT treatment to keep things fresh even after long days on your feet.

    These are not Keens...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 10.5
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 175lbs

I've worn Keens for years and like them because of their wide toe box and excellent construction. These are definitely not the Keens I am used to and I instantly regretted the purchase, but figured they might stretch a bit or perhaps get a little move comfortable. I ended up donating them to a shelter during a trip to Copenhagen, DK and picking up another brand of shoe while there.

    My thoughts on these shoes:
    1. Very narrow
    2. Narrow toe box compared to the dozen or so pairs of Keen shoes purchased over the past 15 or so years.
    3. Flat insole - I knew this, but since the shoes are so narrow I couldn't put in a different insole as I have in other shoes. This is also a huge departure from Keens.
    4. Extremely stiff leather. I've had their leather shoes before, even their casual boots and they were comfortable on day one as well as having a comfortable insole.
    5. I had sore spots on my feet from putting them on in the morning, walking through the Spokane airport (small airport), sitting on flight to Seattle (didn't have to walk far to my next gate), then on a 9 hour flight to
London where I did walk maybe a mile, then a 2 hour flight to Copenhagen, short walk to a taxi stand, then to the hotel. This was the most disappointing part.

I almost didn't wear them based on the 1/2 day of having them before I left, but thought, "These are Keens", they'll be okay. Nope, which makes me wonder if Keen branded a type of shoe to get into another segment?

Unsure, but I am so unhappy with them and I would think that any previous Keen wearer would feel the same, unless they have very narrow feet.

    Wasted $150.

Super warm but sole seemed slick

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Height: 5'3"

Bought these boots for my husband but ended up returning them. They fit true to size and they felt warm. However, the soles appeared too slick to be worn out on icy streets. Returned them because of that reason.

    Great looking winter shoe/boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11

These Keen Winterhaven's are awesome! I haven't gotten to put them to the true test of the cold winter months just yet, but I am confident that the 100 grams of insulation will make it the perfect winter shoe. They're classified as a boot, but honestly fit and look just like a high top shoe which is why I love them. They run spot on size wise, and have the perfect amount of room in them for a thicker winter sock if need be. Really enjoying them so far!
