    Love my Voyager

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I love Keen. It seems a bit wider than other shoes (Merrell & North Face) I have tried and fits my feet perfectly. Voyager (and Targhee) uses reflective thread to the heel area, and it is very helpful and keeps me safe when I go for a walk with my husband at night. The shoes have good arch support, and very comfortable.

A great hiking shoe. Very comfortable right out of the box.

    great for wide feet!

wore this a few times and due to wide feet always had a hard time with hiking shoes. These are great and fit perfect the first time.

Keen Voyageur Great for Wide Feet

Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these for my mom who has plantar fasciitis and has a really hard time finding shoes that don't aggravate her foot pain. Additionally, she usually needs to find wider width shoes. These fit her perfectly, although after a few weeks of hiking around she's asked for a half size up. They provide enough support that her nerve pain doesn't flare up which is a relief and has helped her be way more active!

    Great Hiking Shoes

Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased these as a gift for my Aunt and she absolutely loves them. She is an avid gardener, hiker, and walker and has found that these are perfect for every activity she takes on. The have a nice wide toe box for a comfy fit, great traction, well constructed, and overall a nice looking shoe. I am sure these will work well for many years to come.

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

They fit my feet like Cinderella stepping into her glass slipper. I can walk just anywhere with these hiking shoes and feel confident they will support me. Thank you Back Country for being the best seller for Keen in my book. These shoes are awesome!

    Fit:True to size

I got these shoes for my wife. They were her first pair of hiking shoes and she loves them. They fit true to size. They are very comfortable. They seem tough enough to handle all kinds of terrain. She took them hiking Saturday and they did great.

    Women's Keen Voyageur hiking shoe

    Familiarity:I've used it several times
    Fit:Runs small
    Size Bought7.5

I loved my Keen hiking shoes, so when it came time to replace, I didn't hesitate to get the Voyageur. Contrary to some of the other reviews, I could tell right from the box that they were smaller than my previous Keens of the same size. I hoped they would adjust through wear, but they are just not as comfortable as my previous pair. Too late to return now and I'm reluctant to buy a size larger. Agree that sizing appears to be inconsistent. Might suggest trying a couple sizes and returning the one(s) that don't fit as well!

I have found that keens always fit true to size and this one did not disappoint! I ought a 7.5 and it fits like a dream. feels light underfoot too! super pumped to have this great traction shoe for summer adventures

    Gratifying

    Familiarity:I've used it several times
    Fit:True to size
    Size BoughtSize 11
    Height5` 9"

After reading the previous reviews which talk about ordering up, I took the chance and ordered my regular size...partially because I would have had to go to a men's size to order up and didn't like their colors as much. The shoe starts out a little snug but with two or three days at work and on the trail, I am set. This is one comfortable shoe. I am an avid Keen fan but this will serve my purpose terrifically well. I will be going on a cruise with lots of walking excursions next Fall and wanted plenty of time to find the right shoe. I will look no further. Don't hesitate if you are on the fence...I was debating between this and a Merrel, but am very happy with this shoe.

    Size Bought8.5

I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well, so I was a little leery about ordering these. When they arrived they fit like a glove straight out of the box. I was amazed. These are my first pair of Keen shoes, and I'm sure not the last.

    Very disappointed in the fit

    Size Bought8.5
    Height5` 6"
    Weight129 lbs

I purchased these because I love Keen and have always had great luck with their shoes. I wore these for a month and no matter what I've done, I can't get a snug fit. My foot continuously slips (even with insoles) and my ankles hurt so bad because my foot is not secure. I can't return because it's been just a little over 30 days and I've worn them, so it was a complete waste of money. I feel so disappointed as I would have exchagned them for a different one.

Sizing a bit off but great shoe overall

    Familiarity:I've used it several times
    Fit:Runs large
    Size Bought8

Bought a size 7 first (usually wear this size) but these were way too small! So ended up buying an 8 because I wanted to put an insole insert in the shoe (plantar fasciitis - YUCK!). And that worked out great! I had to tighten them really tight, I have narrow feet, and put on a coolmax pair of hiking socks and they fit. Went on a five mile hike and had no problems what so ever - the shoes didn't require a break in time. I've hiked in them several times since and have been thoroughly impressed by these shoes. Other than figuring out the sizing that works for you I would encourage you to purchase these shoes.

    Fit:True to size

I bought these for my mom. She has wide feet, and her normal shoe size is a size 7. I bought her a 7 and she said they fit perfectly. She wears them all the time, walking and hiking.

    Weird fit

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Fit:Runs large

I have a ton of Keens and find their sizing to be maddeningly inconsistent . Can NOT get these Voyageurs to fit properly; 7s are too small in the toe and 7.5s are loose and sloppy. Targhees fit me perfectly but I wanted something lighter for west coast and summer hiking.

    Solid All-Around Hiking Shoe

Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    Fit:True to size

I bought these for my mother as a birthday present. Honestly, she wanted them more as a well supported every day shoe than a dedicated hiking shoe. It's no surprise that they more than deliver as a walk about shoe for daily life - if they are built to handle trails, a sidewalk is going to be no problem. Fit was true to size for her at a 9.5. Sole is very sturdy and provides plenty of traction. The Charcoal/Sterling Blue color option is nice and understated.

    Life Changer!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:Runs large

These have changed the hiking game for me. I feel like I can climb any mountain in these shoes. They are VERY comfortable and sturdy. They are great when hiking in loose gravel or rocky terrain. I sizes down half a size and they fit great. Love the look as well!

I'm trying to choose between various keen hiking shoes. Heel height matters for an injury. What IS the heel height ( cant find it online)? Also, does anyone know how the heel height of the Koven,+/or Oak ridge +/Targee and any other similar Keen shoe compares And if you know the heel I can walk only a block , after years of hiking )-: I can walk a bit farther in my Keens (Voyager), so comparison is important ($ is tight)

I am hiking in this shoe now, but need something with a thicker sole because of rocky terrain. Got any suggestions?

Hi Claudia, As a general comment that might help you head in the right direction, you may want to consider going with a backpacking boot for rocky terrain, not a hiking shoe/boot. Big difference in comfort and performance. You'll get that thicker and stiffer sole that you need, not to mention the ankle support that will, at some point, be something you're thankful for. Specific to another style- my son has been doing heavy packing in Yosemite, etc for several years in the same pair of Keen Targhee II mids and has been really happy with them. Still holding up and giving him plenty of support. You should also consider a pair of good aftermarket foot-beds. Hope this helped. Try this one: item # KEN0172

I got the Voyageur and the Targhee II -- trying to decide between them... I have a week of hiking coming up in October in Utah (not backpacking, so won't be carrying much) and am nervous my feet will be too warm in the Targhee. But I live in the Northeast and tend to hike in cooler weather. Thoughts?? Thanks!

October in UT is usually cool so overheating isn't too big of a worry.

The best thing you could do is wear a good pair of socks made out of merino wool. These socks will keep your foot drier and that will keep your foot cooler in the warmer weather or warmer in cooler weather. KEEN makes some awesome socks that are left and rights so they fit great and are made out of Merino wool, they are called the Bellingham sock and they come in different heights and weights. I would recommend the Bellingham Crew Lite.

what is the difference between the Keen...

what is the difference between the Keen Voyageur and the Keen Alamosa?

Hey Nancy, The Alamosa has a smaller toe cap, so it's not as bulky as the Voyageur and across the forefoot of the Alamosa there is 2 to 3 mm less volume, it's the same width but less volume. Why does KEEN do this? They feel the person using the Alamosa over the Voyageur is going to be a little more active ie. they may run up a hill, instead of walking, so the want the forefoot to be more secure, more agile. KEEN also rounds the soles corners for the same reason on the Alamosa. They both a very stable and use a stone bruising plate in the midsole. The Alamosa looks more sporty too, kind of a cross between a trail running shoe and a full on hiking shoe. I hope this helps. Thanks, Jerry

My wife has the Keen Winterports and she's looking for a summer shoe in the same style. Does anyone know how these would compare?

I also have the Keen Wintersport boot and I am on my second pair of Voyageurs. I would say they both fit the same and are very true to size. I wear an 8 1/2 normally with a wide toe box shoe and that is what I ordered in these 2 styles.

I have tried many Keen styles and though I normally wear an 8 1/2 wide the Keens 8 1/2 are "sometimes" a bit short in the toe box but a 9 slips at the heel. So depending on the style I find I need an 8 1/2 and sometimes a 9. I have not tried the Voyageur on. Would you say they are true to size or should they be sized up?

I have found that the voyageurs lock in the heel better than other styles.

    are these water proof?

    are these water proof?

Uhmm....no. The mesh on the side is for venting and air flow. These are sold as a breathable hiking shoe, not a waterproof one.

The Keen Targhee is the "waterproof" version of the Voyaguer.

Ditto on them not being waterproof -- that's the trade-off of having the mesh venting. I would disagree with the comment that the Targhee is the waterproof version of the Voyageur because I've found that the fit of the 2 boots is different. I'd love to be able to wear the Targhee on trips where I'm expecting stream crossings. However, my heels slip badly in the Targhee while the Voyageurs fit my narrow heels very nicely.

My foot runs narrow & I was wondering about the width on these shoes. Anyone with a narrow foot tried them on?

I do not usually have too narrow a heel, but it happens on occasion. The heel was definitely wide for me.

do these shoes have arch support?

i don't own a pair, yet... but i've tried them on in the store, and my opinion is, they have the best arch support of any shoes i've ever tried on! they're really comfortable!

They definite feel like it. Far more than any other daily shoe I have.

They fix my aches and pains. I am buying my second pair after many hundreds of miles. When I can't walk anymore from wearing other inferior shoes I put my old ones them back on and the pain goes away.
