Whether in the dry air of the desert or the humidity of the Appalachian range, the heat on a hike can be a real buzzkill. That's why we keep cool in the Keen Targhee Vent Hiking Shoe, which provides plenty of airflow without sacrificing protection and support. Its leather upper has mesh vents to allow perspiration to escape, and the mesh lining increases breathability for your entire foot.
Traction from the All-Terrain outsole and the multi-directional lugs lets you confidently ascend and descend. As you hike, the EVA midsole and footbed absorb the impact and disperse it to reduce your fatigue, so you can crush miles and see more before you need to rest. Keen added a CleanSport NXT treatment to help reduce odors, so you can forget your shoes in the car without it smelling like your middle school gym locker when you get in next.

Disappointed
I bought these shoes to take on a walking tour through Tuscany- but obviously started to break in with my normal short hikes. I cannot go 2 miles without pressure on the ball of my foot, so I will never be able to uses as intended which would be up to 12 miles per day walking between villages in Tuscany. They are also heavier than I expected. I have had other Keen shoes that were much better.

Good multi-purpose shoe
Comfortable right out of the box. These shoes serve as hikers, work-out and yard work shoes. Great multi-purpose shoe.

Fit first time out!
My feet are narrow, I added a insole to make sure my heels didn’t slip. Tow box in a 8.5 is good no crunched toes, especially downhill! I had to increase to a 8.5 from a 8 to avoid toe cramping when going downhill. I also use a thin inner sock and then my regular boot sock. I have worn Keens for years and usually it takes several hikes to” break them in”, but not these!!!!

I've worn Keens for a
I've worn Keens for a long time. This is the third pair of this model I've owned and I keep coming back to them because they are the most comfortable work shoes I've ever owned! The toe box is wide enough for a wide foot and the arch is done right. Well done, Keen!

My favorite shoe!
These shoes are great! I have foot problems and need all the cushion support I can get. These shoes meet those requirements and more! Also love the vented design.

Southwest Gardening
I decided I needed new outdoor gardening shoes after I stepped on a 4 inch bougainvillea thorn that went straight thru my old foam shoes and poked my toe. My yard is basically rocks with plants with thorns and hedges that need regular pruning. The Targhee vented hiking boots were supportive and just what I needed to survive the rugged terrain and heat of southwest gardening. I do wear thicker and breathable ankle socks.
