Big Kids Targhee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve beefed buying these for my grandsons since they could walk. They are sturdy waterproof leather. They hold up well, despite the actives of my rough and tumble grandsons. I’m disappointed that the insole is no longer removable. When they get their shoes soaked, or get the insides dirty, it’s nice to be able to take the insoles out to wash them off or dry them out. They also are a bit hard to get on. The old style with a Velcro top strap was much easier for the boys to get on and off.

Great but narrow
Great boots but the boots run narrower than the Ridge Flex. They fit my eldest son great but didn’t fit my younger son as well.

The nylon lace holders busted after one 2 mile hike…switching to merrels for my kid.

kid approved!
my son wears these for our hiking adventures and he loves them! they can get pretty wet and dirty and clean up nicely after. He says they are comfortable and warm but not overdoing it.

It just didn’t work for us :(
We love keen shoes and have many pairs but this boots just didn’t work for us. After running through a few muddle puddles my son’s feet were wet and 24 hours later the shoes were still wet. This was only used one time, the terrain was wet but it was not raining, the puddles were very shallow and it was not like he immersed his feet on it. So i’m not sure why his feet got so wet. We were disappointed. Customer service was very helpful. Shoes have been returned and we are awaiting for our refund.

Not waterproof
My son wore them once to school and walked snow. Not even deep snow as it's the very start of the season here The boots were saturated inside.

11 year old had no complaints
We took these on a 8mile hike straight out of the box. 11 year old had no issues. Easy to put on, comfortable and at the end of the day still willing to put them back on.
