Took these out for a 6mile trail hike in PA the day after Thanksgiving, so I was carrying some extra weight. I bought the boots for ankle support because my ankles are trashed. I used to skateboard and I also like my trail footware with a relatively flat bottom tread because that makes me feel more stable. These boots felt very secure, and I found them easy going on my feet right out of the box. I was also concerned about how hot my feet would get on a hike in 58° weather and I would say my feet were warm, but not roasting or sweating excessively, which makes me excited to break these in more throughout the winter. Overall these boots impressed me in every aspect of what I bought them for

Worst hiker I have ever put on out of the box. I hike about 40 miles a week. I wore these on back to back 6 mile hikes. Feet were very sore and swollen. Gave them a day off. Wore them the last 2 hikes. Pinch points on top of right foot, right ankle extremely sore. I'm pretty sure after reading most reviews I got a bad shoe. Hopefully they will replace them so I can give them another try. Can't believe all the good things I have heard from my friends about these hikers. Very disappointed.

My first pair of Keen boots and I love them. Very comfortable to walk/hike in on different surfaces. Great to take the dog for walks in the winter. Very sturdy, with great support all while being comfortable!

these are great, if you have wide feet and need some comfy boots then look no further! They are great with water, I walked through a river and had no issues. They tighten up well and break in very comfortably. the traction is solid too.

Produced in Thailand with poor quality

I ordered these boots at the end of November 2018 and by the first of April 2019 with about 125 miles on them the soles were separating. This seems to be an issue with many Keen hiking boots produced in Thailand . Keen did replace them under warranty and I decided to try a different boot style thinking it would make a difference. After having the new boots (TARGHEE VENT MID) for 2 months the rubber outer sole and mid sole started separating. So much for producing Quality products. They have given themselves an out for warranty replacement. They will not replace a second pair under warranty even though they are producing crap from S.E. Asia. I wouldn't recommend Keen to my worst enemy.

I have always been a trail running shoe and sandal guy for all my adventures, but I tried these out for a trail work day up in the mountains. They really exceeded my expectations and may have swayed me away from the trail running only cliche that I was. I loved the wide toe box, the support, the weight, and the stability. I did 15 miles on these fresh out of the box and they were extremely comfortable the whole way. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for

I'd hiked maybe 6 miles in these boots before taking them for this 38 mile journey. No blisters! Honestly between these shoes and the pack, I was way more comfortable than I expected. The waterproofing was sufficient to cross shallow segments of stream (about 2 inches) without getting wet.

So far I haven't taken them serous hiking but I've been on little campground hikes and wearing them around town to break them in for my 2.5 week vacation. I love that they're light-weight and roomy in the ball and toes of the boot. The only issue I have with them so far is that they're hot and make my feet sweat. It's not even mid-spring and I find them best with just liner socks on, but that's what you get with waterproof / leather boots. Excellent boots so far.

I am a big fan of KEEN shoes. They seem to have a wider toe box than a lot of shoes these days and the Targhee III fits that bill. These hiking boots are very comfortable on the trail and provide plenty of support so you are not feeling every rock that you cross paths with. For me, that fit perfectly true to size. I wear an 11 and I picked myself up a size 11 in these boots. Would recommend to anyone that has had trouble finding good fitting boots due to wider feet or having issues with your toes being scrunched up.

My brother wears these all winter long to work and is on his feet at least half the day and he swears by them. While this is his third pair in about three years, I know he keeps two in rotation, so he's probably only burned through one pair in that amount of time, and he's tough on his gear, so I trust him if he goes back to a brand.

Took these to Canyonlands and went on a couple hikes down there. It might've done me justice to go a half size down from my usual size 11 because my feet were moving around in them quite a bit(no blisters, thankfully). I know they were only stiff because they were fresh out of the box. There was snow and my feet stayed dry so that was really all I could hope or ask for. I know after breaking them in they'll be more comfortable and not as stiff. Overall, a very solid boot for a modest price

Solid Wide Toe Box
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
I loved these hiking boots. They have great support and are comfortable after many miles of hiking. I seem to always hike in shoes that are a touch too narrow for me and these were perfect. They had a nice wide toe box which made me feel like I could walk for ever. I would definitely recommend these for anyone with wider feet. The boots do very well in early morning dew and small puddles. As long as you don't get water over the top of the boot your feet will stay dry.

These are some solid boots. Solid in density but also in character. You will feel like a mountain man once you put on these boots. Waterproof to the core and durable. Go ahead, take these on your next adventure and we will see what lasts longer, you or the boots. (PS the answer is the boots!)

First off, I have yet to put these shoes through the ringer. The 4 is tentative until I know about durability and performance in all conditions. I've been on a few hikes (nothing too strenuous) and did a little scrambling. They fit me perfectly and surprise surprise for a modern hiking boot, they were comfortable out of the box with no break in time required. Comfort? I barely noticed these boots at all after any of my treks. I was in no rush at all to take them off when I got to my campsite. Great breath ability, support, and style. Traction? I've yet to experience any slippage even when scrambling but conditions were fairly dry and ideal. I haven't tested them on any multiday treks, in wet conditions, or anything too rigorous so take my review with a grain of salt!

Extremely comfortable, yet rugged. Traction is designed well for climbing up a steep slope, descending down a steep slope, and grips fantastically while walking horizontally on a steep slope. Having medical issues with ankles and knees, the ankle-high design and comfort, provide complete assurance for me. An added bonus: They look awesome!

TG3 sucks Moores law of boot quality
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Sucks Not half the boot I'm wearing with a 1000 miles on them. Shipping this back tg2 is on order, but They probably cut its quality as well. No I won't try it on and I can't conceive of how someone can give it a 3 star or 4 ro 5 . really?

Awesome Boot

These Targhee 3's are an awesome boot, and have such great support. Nice lightweight boot, very well made, and definitely have a very supportive shank to them! These boots are also very breathable, the mesh vent that they incorporated into this Targhee 3 was such a great feature that keeps your feet nice and cool out there on long hikes. The only downside to this boot is that they are a little bit wide for my foot, however my foot is definitely on the more narrow side of things. Overall though, awesome and high performance hiker!
