    Exploration is key.

It's high time you start taking the rougher trails to ridges beyond the mountains you generally backpack; go see what's beyond the horizon with the Keen Women's Targhee Exp Mid Waterproof Boot. Its combination of waterproof protection and rugged traction helps you stay on you feet when your heavy backpack tries to push you down steep, slippery, and muddy terrain. The aggressively lugged rubber sole allows you to cruise through steep sections of trail before those looming rain clouds blow in, so you and your backpacking buddy can enjoy a hot cup of coffee while watching raindrops on a lake from the comfort of your tent.

    Nice Boots

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these for my friend and she loves them. They provide a nice amount of ankle support without being too heavy. They also have great grip! When we went hiking together my lighter-weight Keens struggled in some areas with slipping where hers didn't. Highly recommend.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought these boots for a trip to Colorado. They were great! Went looking for fall there but ended up in the first heavy snowfall of the season. These boots were put through rain, snow, ice and running water. They were completely waterproof and quite comfortable. They are a little clunky/rugged but that doesn't bother me.

    Just what I needed

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I broke these in just a weeeee bit before taking them on a first full trip, a solid hike around Mt Washington. To be honest, I bought them because they seemed to be the shoes the everyone and their mother trusts, I see them on the trail and in the day to day all the time. They were angels in lots of deep mud and mountain streams following unrelenting summer storms. Despite the fresh tread, they did slip out on smooth-faced scrambles when wet, but that's to be expected. Overall, I use them on all my hikes now, they were forgiving even though not fully broken in, and they are super comfy when Im collecting research field samples for work on farms. Totally water proof, totally comfy, and even a little cute with skinny jeans (sorry not sorry!)
