Nice pair of shoes ...

Familiarity:

Fit was good - I returned a pair of Keen Austins because of a tight fit over the top of the foot - but these slip on easily, and have a nice footbed. I have a fat middle part of my foot, which sometimes leads me to by a longer shoe just to avoid abraiding the top of my foot. This one is so far good, and I expect it to improve as they break in. It also has a pretty wide footbed for the toes, and since my big toes are slightly bunioned, I'm happy that there's no lack of room in the front.

I REALLY wanted to wear these!

Fit:
Runs small

I bought these in the hopes of replacing a pair of Merrels whose sides were blowing out. The problem was I couldn't get these things on. The opening would not expand enough in order to get my foot inside and I didn't want to force it and rip them. That really surprised me because otherwise they looked like they'd fit wonderfully. Oh well, I was able to return them without hassle. One of the drawbacks of ordering something new online...

I really like them a lot however I made a poor assumption in that having the yellow triangle on it met safety toe I bought them for work assuming they were steel toed Work shoes however upon dropping a drill on my foot I realized they were not but if you don't eat steel toed boots they are very comfortable and they were very nicely I'm not entirely sure what the triangle signifies

My favorite winter shoes

Familiarity:

Super warm. Super comfortable. Not too fancy to wear out to dinner and movie, but nice enough to wear to work (for me.)

Great shoe, poor fit...

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit:
Runs large

I was really excited for this shoe. I've been wearing the Keen Bleeker slip-ons for over a year, size 13, and they've been great. Great fit, comfortable, light-weight. But, they don't really cut it for winter time. I found this shoe and it seemed like the perfect alternative. I bought a 13 and it was a bit large. little room for width - no big deal, little long - no big deal... but my heel EASILY slides out when walking. Tried both dress socks and medium weight hiking socks - no go. I sent them back and got a size 12... a bit snug on my foot. Would probably get sore if I wore them all day.... and yet.... my heel STILL slides out the back. Disappointed. Otherwise... great construction (as expected). little on the heavy side, but I kind of expected that.

Ugly like a pug

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

They fit true to size on me, and are warm and comfy right from the box. The big rubber toe cap is ugly, but like a pug, it is growing on me, and I am finding it endearing. Good snow shoe, happy with the purchase.

Awesome Winter Shoe

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

For me, these are exactly what I was looking for in a winter shoe. They have a nice sole with a good amount of traction, about as much as you can expect without putting on crampons, they are waterproof and they are definitely warm. My favorite feature however, is simply that they are slip-ons. Lo Boot is an apt description, I've even had people comment on my 'boots' until I lift my pat leg up a bit. They are almost just boots that someone cut the top couple inches off. I'm actually not looking forward to the weather warming because I will have to find a new favorite pair of shoes (until it's sandal weather anyway).

These are really smart shoes. Er..boots.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've been wearing Keen sandals since 2004 for hiking and biking. I was looking for a low top winter shoe and these made the most sense. That is to say, they are incredibly practical and sensible. They fit very well and they're easy to put on. With slipons, if they fit right, they're hard to get on - or - they're easy to get on but they don't fit right. The Brixen Lo Boot is the best of both worlds. It goes on easily, and doesn't slide around on your foot. Best of all, the wool felt lining is very warm. Wool is a great material for winter footwear lining, because it stays warm even when it's wet. The sole does well on ice and slick surfaces, and Keen's characteristic big toe guard is perfect. I really like this shoe. I would definitely buy these again.

Typical Keen Quality

Currently wearing these shoes, They are pretty warm and honestly don't breathe real well but typical for Keen, they are very well made and very comfortable. Tough and very durable along with waterproof, these are nice shoes. I've spent several evenings shoveling the driveway in these and never got cold or wet feet.

What's the difference between these and...

What's the difference between these and the older keen whistlers. Whistlers are currently one of my favorite shoes. Have had them for 3 season. They are not great in weather less than 30 degrees...don't have a lot of nsultation...but wool socks make them go down to the single digits. How are these compared to the whistlers

Erik, The difference is that the Brixen Low has 200 grams of insulation, it will go down to at least 0. Jerry
