May be too delicate for the outdoors

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I used this filter on a short two-day hike using the filter twice on the trip. When I got home I cleaned it before storing it and discovered there is a pin hole leak in the membrane. So, despite not laying it on the ground, not letting it come in contact with any abrasive surfaces and storing it in its own bag, it still got a puncture. The cherry on top is my boyfriend warned me and teased me for buying this filter because he didn't think it would hold up outside. I will say the filter does work very well, is easy to use and clean, and had good water flow. It's just too bad from my experience that the membrane is not durable enough for any real use outdoors. So, be careful handling if you choose this filter. I hope Katadyn makes some improvements because I did enjoy it while it lasted (2 days).
