Point and send.

The Kastle BMX 105 Skis are on a strict diet of morning pow, mid-day crud, and afternoon hardpack. Shaped with versatility in mind, their mid-sized 105mm waist width with 134mm in the shovel allow the BMXs to stay up in powder and remain manageable once conditions turn variable. The rockered tip and tail make these planks playful and maneuverable, while traditional camber underfoot lets you lay them on edge without feeling like you're going to lose your grip when you really lay into your turns. A sandwich construction with full-length ABS sidewalls offer a solid and stable feel, while Kastle's Hollowtech 2.0 tips help to eliminate tip chatter and reduce swing weight for near-effortless turn initiation.

The BMX 105 Skis feature Kastle's Elliptical Radius sidecut, which combines a narrow turning radius in the tip and tail, with a wide turning radius through the mid-section of the skithe result is a ski that will adapt to changing terrain and conditions with the ability to get turny in pow and make long arcing turns down big, wind-buffed faces. The silver fir wood core shaves weight from the ski, without sacrificing an ounce of durability. A layer of rubber over the steel edges help give the skis a damp feel, and their UHM graphite sintered bases are built to meet the demands of the most demanding big mountain skiers.

Kästle BMX 105 Review

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Kästle BMX 105's are my go to touring and everyday ski. They are light enough for longer tours but sturdy enough to hold an edge and ski aggressively all over the mountain. I ski the 189's and am blown away by the low swing weight and maneuverability maintained with an ability to charge at top speeds in variable conditions. If your looking for a strict charger, I would recommend the BMX 105 HP, but for an all around all mountain/ big mountain ski there is no better choice than the BMX 105s.

What do they weigh in at? I'm looking online and can't find any specs. I ask because, like you, I'm trying to determine if I would want to use them as a touring ski. I'm trying to stay under 2000g per ski.

Thanks for the great review Theo!

Anthony, I did a little digging, and it looks like @ 181cm, they weigh in at 2270g. If you need any help finding some new touring skis, I'd be happy to assist you! Feel free to shoot me an email: chartman@backcountry.com
