Kask Bambino Pro Helmet

Luxuriously fast.

Amongst the expansive club of sculptural TT/tri lids, you might be tempted to think that all helmets are created equally or that the differences they make in a race are minimal. Rather than fall down that trap, try upgrading your race setup with the Kask Bambino Pro Helmet before you make any snap judgements.

The Bambino Pro relies on the same construction materials and safety considerations as most other helmets, but its standard similarities stop there. Instead of being hit in the shoulder blades with a long tail edge every time you move your head during a race, you'll be able to move your head freely in a race with the Bambino Pro's purposely rounded, watts-saving shape. Plus, without the drag of a trailing helmet tail, you'll be less susceptible to getting pulled around by crosswinds or unexpected gusts.

Though improving aerodynamics is the Bambino Pro's main objective, Kask's well aware that you won't want to be stuck racing in a lid that's hot and uncomfortable. It shaped the Bambino Pro to include ten small vents for airflow and included its Octo-Fit retention system for easy on-the-fly fit adjustments. Rather than finishing the Bambino Pro with the standard nylon strap, Kask eschewed the standard material and went straight for a supple eco-leather chin strap, guaranteeing you a dose of luxury on every ride and some approving nods for style as well.

The best

This helmet rules. It is very light for a TT lid: 388g size medium with visor. It actually comes with a clear visor not mirrored as pictured. Fit is excellent and it looks very cool--no silly super-long tail. Longer-tailed TT helmets are only really good if you can keep your head up all the time. For those of us who ride with a head-down position--the bobbed TT helmet is much more aerodynamic (and probably much lighter too). Weight does play a part in holding a aero position for any length of time and is certainly a concern with a hilly TT like Tour of the Gila's. Get this if you want to go faster.

Fit my head, and did its job

Two weeks after I purchased this helmet, I crashed hard and fast on it. The helmet was cracked and ripped up, but my head survived intact. There are many brands of helmet that can save your life, but mine was saved by a Kask Bambino Pro that fit my big head very well. I found the visor very easy to use, with its magnetic clips; it survived the crash, and will be used on my next Kask Bambino Pro!

Lightweight, Fits Great

I've used it several times

Great helmet in terms of fit, and weight. For the money spent, I would have expected a nicer carrying case, rather than the bag included. Additionally, only a clear visor is included. For the price of the helmet I would expect a much nicer travel case along with at least a tinted, if not a clear, and tinted visor.
