This shirt is so soft, comfortable, and warm. I get tempted to wear it around the house when I am cold sometimes. I wore this shirt for the first time backpacking in the Uinta’s and it kept me warm but was light enough to not make me overheat and sweat. Overall I love this shirt and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great base layer.

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. I took my new Kari Traa Tikse Long Sleeve Top with me on my latest camping trip and loved it. After the sun went down it started getting a little chilly so I threw my Tikse Long Sleeve Top on and I must say I was pretty impressed with how warm it kept me. It was probably about 50 degrees out which is pretty cold for me when I’m just hanging around camp and not moving much. After it got a little bit colder outside, I wore it under a lightweight insulated jacket and it was just right. It was so nice not having to put on 3-4 layers just to say warm (I tend to run cold). One thing that stood out to me was that it didn’t have a front half zipper like a lot of base layers do. I personally do not like the zipper because it tends to become uncomfortable when under other layers. I sleep in my base layers like a lot of us do and the zipper tends to ride up and jab my neck. It’s a great base layer, excellent quality, and quite durable. I am 5’7” and approximately 160 lbs. I got a size large and it fits perfectly. I would definitely say it is true to size. The color, size (based on the dimensions in the size chart), quality of material, and the features as pictured on Backcountry is very accurate in my opinion. I was very pleased when I opened it because a lot of things you see online aren’t exactly how they appear when you see it in person. I would advise to make sure you wash it before wearing! It is 100% merino wool so it was itchy for a little while until my skin got used to it. Other than that, this base layer is worth every penny.

This is a perfect baselayer. I use it for ski touring where it's really important to have a mix of warmth and breathability. The Tikse is merino, and has porous panels in the back (the sweaty areas) so you don't end up sitting in your sweat. Perfect for long days out! I ended up getting this shirt in a medium and the fit is really flattering and perfect.

This shirt is soft, has a nice slim fit, and is light and breathes well. I like all the colors and hope they come up with more. It would have gotten 4-5 stars, except for the fact that it comes in a massive cylinder of plastic that is just completely wasteful and unjustified, especially from a company that purports to support outdoor activities. Why do you need this much plastic to sell a shirt?! Backcountry, tell Kari Traa your customers want them to minimize their packaging!

Got this one in orange a month or so ago. I'd wear it on every run if I could. The wool is really warm and softer than most wool and breathes well. The back mesh worried me - too cold or airy? - but it's worked out great; that's where my sweat usually piles up on cold runs and later cools me down too fast, but not with this top. I wear it as a baselayer (temps under 20 or so) or on its own (temps over 30). The seams and color blocks are flattering and great for high visibility. I think I'm going to get the blue/green color. Oh, and did I say this is a great price for a high quality, versatile top from folks who clearly spend time being active outdoors? BTW, I am a size medium and both sizes were fine on me. Got the large for my orangutan arms and a little more length in winter to cover my booty with warmth.
