Prime Connect-Ci Binding & Splitboard Interface

Most of Karakoram's Prime Connect Bindings come fully equipped for snowboards. The Prime Connect-Ci Binding & Splitboard Interface is one of the few that's splitboard-ready for backcountry touring; however, you can still switch this binding out like any Prime Connect Binding. With Karakoram's revolutionary Prime System, this binding is removable so you can put it on snowboards with Quiver Connectors (sold separately) or other splitboards with the Prime Connect Split Conversion Kit. This binding already comes with the Splitboard Interface so you can attach it to one splitboard right out of the box.

The binding itself boasts the highest stiffness out of any Prime Connect Binding. By infusing the Reactive highback and chassis with carbon, Karakoram not only made this binding the stiffest, it's also one of the lightest options. The chassis has a thin layer of EVA to pad underfoot for extra comfort on long tours, and an open design underneath the padded footbed allows your board to flex naturally. Karakoram finished the chassis off with Dupont Zytel sidewalls to provide more support and better power transfer on traverses. There's a single heel riser to assist on steeper sections of the skin track.

    Crazy good deal! (Initial Impressions)

Just mounted these today so this is just an initial impressions review, I will follow up with first ride then post season reviews.

These bindings are of incredible quality, I have ridden many brands but these feel bombproof as well as intuitive to rig up on a split setup (currently a Weston Big Chief). The carbon infused material is crazy, it is incredibly stable while still having a more traditional feel (In comparison to the alpine line). The highbacks are definitely no joke at a 10 out of 10 stiffness and the base seems to be quite solid with a lot of little features that I feel will be beneficial including rubberized contact points and reinforced connect points. Something I a™m really stoked for is the locking heel for quick split skiing traverses.

One thing that I could see being an issue is the amount of bolts and moving parts (I will definately be carrying a bag of spare bolts and an Allen key to repair if necessary). Although with Karakoram’s build quality, everything should be just fine.

Overall super impressed, I’m stoked to get out and shred these and follow up with some riding and touring feedback.

Note: These do include the Connect Ride Mode 2.0 Split interface which makes this a solid value.

      Crazy good deal! (Initial Impressions)

      Following up on my initial:

These bindings absolutely rip. I paired these with a Weston Big Chief and the combo absolutely rails turns and responds incredibly well.

The split interface 2.0 is quite impressive and very user friendly. Reduced my transition times in half which is very useful when your skiier friends are tearing skins and dropping.

I did have one screw fall out on a tour which left me without my lower ratchet, luckily I had some ski straps and made it work. So make sure to check your Bindings pre touring.

      Anyways, still 5/5 Star Bindings.
