Solid upgrade

Bought these as a solid upgrade to my Karakoram prime split connect 1.0 system. I had the pleasure of trying these bad boys out at the Pico Hiko split board demo day at Pico Mountain, in Killington, VT. Not only did the two stage riser make it easier to climb when I get the truly steep sections, but the ease of use is incredible. I never had to bend over and flip anything by hand. I just took my trekking pole baskets, hooked them onto the edge, and with a light flick engaged the risers two stages. Simple, easy, and totally effective. So much so, that I immediately purchased a set for my own setup. I ride a Jones Solution 154, with the Karakoram Prime connect 1.0 system, and Karakoram Prome Connect-R bindings with the upgraded Flec-Lock strap for added support. I highly recommend these for anyone with a Karakoram setup.

UPDATE AFTER MUCH MORE USE

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Massive improvements After using these the entire winter so far I can say, the riser issue has been fixed. They are simple, easy and fast to use. See video. I have had zero issues with collapsing or breaking. 1 pair all winter with tons of distance and vert. Do not see them failing at all. I literally have zero complaints. If you knew me, that's a big deal. No more struggling through small steeps because going to the high riser is an issue or vice versa. These are fast and make switching an afterthought. Highly recommend switching

New and Improved

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

They are amazing, hands down the best on the market. Karakoram fixed the durability issues with the new model and created and easier riser to use in the process. I used almost every proto type during the process of changing the risers and the version that went to production is well worth the effort of going through a testing process. You will be pleased. The next part of the risers that is new is the heal lock for ski mode. SO MUCH BETTER! Before I would pop out of the lock when I would heavily flex the ski but not anymore! The heal lock is solid now. You can stomp, smash and ski!

Is the heel-lock feature, of this riser, compatible with the Connect bindings?

According to and email response from Russell Cunningham @ Karakoram: Yes, the new Dual Speed risers are designed to work with the Connect bindings, as well as the heel lockdown. The only difference, is that you need to run the riser in the "back" position in the slotted holes. On the contrary, the alpine primes utilize the forward position of the slotted hole.
