Strike Elbow Guard
Throwing elbows at trees when you're getting wild on the trail, though ill-advised, is sometimes inevitable, so suit up ahead of time with the Kali Protectives Strike Elbow Guard for the shield you need when you get just a little too wild on the trail. The Strike Elbow Guards provide you with a shield from unwieldy tree branches and rocks when the berm you banked into was a little looser than expected and sends you into the woods, so that you can get back up after dusting yourself off and continue to tackle the mountain with confidence.
The key to the Strike guards is their Xelion elbow cap, Kali's answer to the ever-so-popular hex-style pad we're seeing all over the trails. The Xelion pad absorbs and dissipates impact energy, but while maintaining an open face, allowing air to move through the pad, keeping you cooler than with hard-shell pads, and allowing a little more flex when you need to handle your bike, pumping into rollers, or railing hair-pin turns. Underneath Kali's Xelion cap is a layer of EVA impact foam, much like you'll find in helmets, adding another layer of impact-absorbing protection when the trail leaves little room for error. These pads stay in place thanks to non-slip bands on the top and bottom, and feature breathable mesh on the back panel to facilitate better breathability, and after a few too many sweaty days on the trail, they can be chucked in the wash along with your riding gear for a freshen up.

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Admittedly I've only worn these once but I did crash, OTB and my elbow was the first point of contact with the ground. It absorbed the impact, no pain in the elbow whatsoever! They stayed in place for the whole ride whereas my previous pairs need to be constantly adjusted; when I crashed there is a good chance that my previous elbow pad would have no longer been on my elbow. These are also much cooler temperature wise than my previous set of Kali Veda elbow pads.
