    Quick and easy instant traction.

Instead of pulling the ol' banana peel slip and eating it on icy trails, strap on the Kahtoola MICROspikes Traction System for instant footing and more graceful movement. Burly stainless steel cleats are connected by flex chains and an elastomer harness for a snug and secure fit and high performance traction.

With a new lower profile harness, eyelet reinforcements, and an integrated toe bale, these MICROspikes are the lightest and lowest profile version yet. A heel tab makes the system a breeze to get on or off, and a sturdy front bar holds it in place up front. Whether you're walking the dog, fishing on a frozen river, or doing that high-altitude hike to an icy peak, the MICROspikes help you keep your footing and prevent your butt from hitting the ground. And now the MICROspikes come with a tote sack so you have somewhere to store them when you get to lower elevations.

    Winter Hikes

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend and she says, "I don't know how I ever lived without these! They provide incredible traction in packed powder, slush, and ice. They fit easily over any shoes and are surprisingly easy to run in."

      A+ for Traction

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When you come across an alpine snowfield, hit ice on the ascent during a trail run, or just need some extra traction for a slippery hike, these are the spikes you'll want. Wearing these is like walking on felt with velcro shoes - it almost feels like cheating. Plus, they're totally bombproof.

My one and only complaint is that these are a bit heavy if you're counting grams but the added protection is 100% worth the weight.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These fit and feel great. They work the way you expect and get you to where you want to go, no matter the ice or snow pack! So excited to get more hikes in!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got these for my mom and stepdad for christmas. They were in need of a new pair of spikes. They said they love these and how easy they are to put on. Haven't heard any complaints from them!

      MicroSpikes do it all!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been running Microspikes for years! They offer precise grip on a sheet of ice to the point you can walk with complete confidence. They are easy to take off and on, pack very well, and last for ages. I've even been in situations on steep trails that were completely iced over, but with some exposed boulders I had "hike" over, and the spikes gripped to the smooth rock surface almost as well as they did on the ice sheets. If you are in a situation where you need grip and stability due to ice, get a pair of MicroSpikes!

      Stay active when it's cold

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are an awesome traction system. I've used them hiking and running through the snow and ice. Sometimes its nice to just use these for going up, take them off and run down with your regular trail shoes if it's not too icey.

These have lasted so much longer than other brands I've used- I usually get two winters out of them if I store them inside to protect the rubber from unnecessary heat/cold exposure.

If you're between sizes, I would choose the larger size if it's a hiking shoe with a larger toe box, or choose the smaller size if its a running shoe.

Don't walk on pavement/gravel with them and they'll last a long time.

Durable, Lightweight, Get the job done

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are high quality. I use these on my winter hikes in the Wasatch on the icy trails. I am super confident in these spikes. They haven't let me down. I have a size large and I wear a size 11 trail running shoes. I trail run on the ice sometimes as well and they work great!

      Dogs won't drag me now

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I just got these spikes for winter hikes with my dogs. They came highly recommended from a hiking group here in the Wasatch area as well as a friend of mine. They fit my boots great (Women Oboz winter boots size 9.5 with medium size Kahtoola spikes). They are easy to get on and off the boots and they come with a little storage/carrying bag for when not in use. Now I only hope we will have a great Utah winter!

      Perfect for winter hikes

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love to hike and being able to get out in the winter is tough for me. These spikes have been a life saver! They're great for when the snow is packed down and slick. They hold great and I don't have to worry about slipping around. I got a pair for me and my husband. I'm a 7.5-8 and got a size small. I hope they hold up and don't stretch out!

      Great for Winter Hiking

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have used these a couple of times on packed snow & ice & found them to work well. They were tight to get on over my hiking boots, but I was definitely not worried about them slipping off.

Easy on and off, good grip

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are easy to take on and off. They're also very light and packable, so you can stash them in your backpack when you're headed out for a hike and unsure of the conditions. These are great for walking around the neighborhood on icy roads or a hike on icy/snowy surfaces that aren't deep.

      Great Grip

These provide secure and reassuring traction on snow and ice. Since we usually hike on packed trails in the winter anyway, these have really replaced the need for snow shoes. As is mentioned below, in a pinch, you can continue to wear them on patches of bare trail if necessary.

        So Clutch for Winter Hiking

These are far and away the best spikes out there for winter hiking. I was a little hesitant thinking they would be overkill. But I feel so solid and stable with these on my feet, even on sheer ice! Definitely worth it!!

          it is worth it

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

you can find other brands for $20~ that'll last a few months, but doubtful a season (they're still great if you want to stay in the inexpensive side - but you'll just end up buying another pair as I initially did) So - it is worth the upgrade!! What I like is the ability to walk over the occasional section of trail that's strewn with scree - it's not ideal by any means, but so much better than having to pause and take of the spike entirely and debate whether to put them back on. These have ended up replacing our snowshoes.

          Winter Essential

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these! Micriospikes are part of my go everywhere bag in the winter. The aggressive spikes keep footing on ice, hardpack, and slush. The Large fits over my size 10.5 boot wonderfully. I recommend a pair of gaitors to keep the snow out of your boots.

          Unanswered Question

Would these be appropriate for late spring/early summer 14er ascents where I anticipate snow pack on trail at higher elevations? Or do I need full-on crampons?

Hello, I wear a size 10 US in women's what size is best? Thanks

          Best Answer

          Hey Michaela,

I would go with the Medium so that both your shoes and boots will fit well in them. Over time, the rubber will soften and become easier to stretch over your boots, but will remain a secure fit over your slimmer shoes as well. I hope this helps!

          Unanswered Question

I take a women's 8 or 8.5 boot (US). Which size should I order? I'm concerned about a medium and I see you do not carry a small. I want to be a happy Customer and not have them come off or lose them in the Italian Dolomites on a week long hike with no civilization in sight.

I usually wear a size 10 or 10.5 US Men's shoe. This is, unfortunately right between the M and L sizes. Which should I purchase?
