love my Kaenons
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
I bought my first pair of Lewi's a few years ago. Just received the Jetty's this week and ran out into the sunshine. Love them. I'm absolutely a Kaenon addict . Worth every penny. My eyes are worth it too. I've got both gray and copper lenses, each has its advantages. This style fits my large melon well.
Unfair to fish
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I fished with the Jetty's the past few months in Utah. The lenses are so clear and the polarization just cuts through glare. Whether in moving water or still water I found these to be the best glasses I have ever owned for sight fishing. The lenses are also very durable. I have been hesitant to buy a nice pair of shades since I often scratch or break sunglasses. Although I have been trying to baby these, after a season of guiding they have last through their fair share of drops onto rocks and are still scratch free! More more thing to mention, the frame is on the bigger side and provides great eye protection from hooks.
Best sunglasses EVER
Hands down these are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. They fit my face perfectly and the hinges are sturdy and reliable. The lenses have taken a ton of punishment and only got their first real scratch after two years of use. They block the perfect amount of sun for those extremely sunny Utah days. Not only are these very sporty, but they are also very stylish. Highly recommend these over ANY other sunglass brand.

Picked these up in the Almond finish on SAC and am super happy. They are very light, very comfortable, very stylish, and the optics are off the charts. The polarized lenses reduce glare and offer noticeable enhancement to the clarity, detail, and depth of the field of vision (try looking at a distant tree line to test me on this, I was pretty amazed at the difference these things make). I have a large face and it seems to me most sunglasses skew toward the small end of the spectrum these days, so I appreciate the beefy size of the Jettys. Was on the fence about the Almond finish when ordered, but they're cool - not too flashy or gaudy. Have experienced a little bit of fogging when I break a sweat, but not enough of an issue to detract. Love 'em! (have a video review of them on Amazon if you want to get a better look at them)
Kaenon Jetty's are the best
Best pair of sunglasses I've owned. They are sick looking, perform better than any with polarization and scratch resistance which is huge if you are active or ever put them in your pocket. Great for driving. I don't know what they do to these lenses, but the sun gods have nothing on Kaenon. Well worth the money. These are my second pair. Still have the first pair of Rhinos and they go strong even though they are 3 years old. Get em.
My last two pairs of shades were Polarized Oakley Gas Cans, and they were sic. When I lost my last pair I decided to go with the Kaenon Jetty Seaweed G12s. I'm glad I did. Better polarization and worlds better for deflecting glare. There were times checking the surf and tuna fishing when I had to take the polarized Oakleys off because the glare off the ocean's surface was so funky that it was tripping my eyes out. With the Kaenons that glare is gone, plain and simple. I can see right through the water. They're also lightweight and fit to the face nicely... a pleasure to wear.
Kaenon shades rule, I especially like the Jetty. They are super stylie but most importantly the lenses are so nice. They are durable and so nice to spend a sunny day looking through. I love em!!
Wow! These sunglasses are awesome! I had never heard of them before my friend let me try a pair out. I can see things that I would never be able to see with other sunglasses. My friends think I'm crazy because I'm always pointing things out that they can't even see. I can see the ripple effect of the safety glass, on car windows and can see right through the reflection off of water, right to the bottom of lakes and streams. I've owned other polarized sunglasses before but they don't even come close to these. I would recommend these in any conditions, but especially for use on water.
This must be just like living in paradise
When I put them on for the first time, my buddy said "Very David Lee Roth!" Really nice optics and finish quality. Nice case and sleeve, too. I've had many pairs of Smiths over the years, and an Oakley and Anon here and there. I'm pleased with my first Kaenons.
The only choice for polarized glasses
I've been very impressed with every Kaenon product I've used. The quality of the optics is unmatched. I've used polarized products from other manufacturers and these are by far the best for all-around use. In fact, every other brand's polarization isn't wearable for day-to-day use because of the rainbow effect and other distortions--not so with Kaenon. I've got the gloss black frames with the SR91 grey lenses and they provide the perfect casual look.
The only downer is they don't stay on top of my head very well when I place them there... gotta be careful when in the restroom or they might drop in the drink. And since these aren't really athletic glasses (get the Kore's for that), the lack of rubber on the temples is OK.
I just ordered the Jetty in Matte Black G12 lens and they are outstanding! The matte black is so stealth and classy it is unreal. I own several Kaenon sunglasses and I'm addicted - they are crack for your eyes. If you are considering Kaenon, don't wait any longer and get them now. You will not be disappointed. No other brand can compare to Kaenon, not even close.
I've bought 2 additional pairs of these shades for my close friends. They fit great and the polarized lens makes a big difference compared to other high end glasses that don't go polarized. Top notch, I like the black on black lens.
What is the difference between the C lens...
What is the difference between the C lens and the G lens?
C stands for Copper and G stands for Gray. It's the lens color. (If you're wondering what the number means, it's the percentage of visible light that the lens lets through - so a G12 = a Gray lens that lets in 12% of the visible light)
whats the difference between c12 and...
whats the difference between c12 and g12?
The 12 stands for light transmission so that the lens is letting in 12% of light and blocking 88%. Kaenon also sells an amazing C28 which is a copper lens that lets in 28% of visible light into the eye and it is an outstanding lens tint for ANY low light activity, golf, fishing, biking, skiing, sailing, you name it. The C28 is only available in the sporty styles like the Kore, Hard Kore, Rhino and UPD.
The c12 is a copper tint that provides high contrast, while the g12 is a gray tint that gives true colors
