Powder is a rare commodity, so when it finally does blanket the mountains, you need to be ready spin laps in bounds and then head to the backcountry to get fresh tracks once the resort's played out. The K2 Men's Pinnacle 110 HV Alpine Touring Boot will ski well both in bounds and out, thanks to its tech fittings, included DIN-compatible soles, and Powerfuse Spyne, which helps to keep the boot stiff and responsive whether you're finding freshies at the resort or getting ready to point it down a big line in the backcountry.
While the Pinnacle 110 may be a softer boot than its 130 flex sibling, it's still going to offer more downhill performance than most AT boots out there thanks to its Synchro Interlock walk mode and carbon-infused Powerfuse Spyne. Instead of using rivets between the cuff and shell, Synchro Interlock technology utilizes a wedge and V-notch interlocking mechanism to firmly lock the shell and cuff together once you put the boot into walk mode, so you don't get that wonky, loose feeling in the cuff that's common in ski/walk boots. Where the Pinnacle really shines, though, is when you want to switch it up between tech bindings, alpine bindings, and frame-style touring bindings in a single day, all without having to switch out the soles.
