These are very cute/stylish and comfy. I love them. I also love that I paid $100 less than the other top brand of wellies.
True to size, but not as comfy as Bogs
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 7
- Height: 5'4"
- Weight: 135lbs
I had tried on Bogs rain boots prior to buying Joules. The comfort in the sole just wasn't there. The boot looked pretty but flat feet require comfort. After trying these, I ordered a pair of Bogs from Bogs website.
Can I Wear These Every Day? Love.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times

Since my field wellies have arrived, I am on track to wearing them every. single. day. I was trying them out despite a lengthy late summer drought in the dry, and have been overjoyed to put them to the rain test as fall storms started rolling in last week.
First off, the field welly is a really comfortable boot. There is ample space for my semi-wide feet. I wear a size US Women's 8 for most shoes, size 8.5 wide for running, and got a US 8 in the boots. This is always hit or miss for me because at least half of the shoes I try are too narrow - not so with Joules! There is more than enough room to layer leggings, jeans, and thick socks without squishing any toes. I'd say they actually run a little large, and would order down if you usually wear a half size.
The rubber is flexible and soft, which I think will eliminate problems with cracking I've had with other boots. It also makes the field welly SO much more comfortable to wear. Along with reinforced pull tabs, this combo makes on and off so simple despite the
GREAT height - the field wellies stop just under my knees! Why aren't all rain boots this tall? Not only do they keep warm in and cold out, the extra height and adjustable top mean that no water gets in, despite big puddles and exuberant toddlers. I want rain boots that work, and these definitely deliver while still looking cool.
The total boot height on the size US 8 is 16.5" from heel to top. The circumference at the top is 16", which expands to 17" by loosening the buckle. My calves at widest are 15.5-16" around, and these boots work well. There isn't a big gap at the top, but I appreciate that to keep stray water from sneaking inside.
Definitely the best rainboots I've tried yet, and I need them for east coast fall - thank you Joules!
Great Height and Soft Rubber
The Field Wellies are the softest rubber I've ever experiences in a boot. I love the flexibility for comfort and feel that it will resist cracking more than harder boots. The height on these wellies is AWESOME - they stop just under my knee (I'm 5'6"). The extra coverage is great for warmth as temperatures drop, and helps keep me dry despite my toddler's insistence on splashing in all of the puddles.
These boots have GREAT tread. Usually the first thing to go in my shoes, that won't be the case with Joules Field Wellies. The stripe detail down the back is cute without being over the top, and is attached to the pull tabs making on and off easy.
What is the width of the boot opening?
The boot opening circumference is 16"
