Stylish enough for a London afternoon.

Turn heads as you take the tube to work while wearing the stylish Women's Coast Jacket from Joules. Fully taped seams on this all-cotton jacket provide some protection from the elements, and the zip-front closure can be sealed up or left open to breathe when the day turns warm. A drawstring hood offers further insurance against bad weather.

    Wife's Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Got this for my wife, she is way stoked on it. Plenty of warmth for when it dips a little below freezing and plenty water resistant for getting out in the snow.

This is the first piece of Joules clothing I have purchased, but it definitely won't be the last! I was looking for a really practical jacket that I could wear through multiple seasons, and I wanted it to be stylish enough to not mind having to put it on when the weather called for it. This jacket far surpasses both requirements! The material and construction is outstanding - I am really impressed with how durable everything is. It's light enough to wear on cool fall days, but I've already worn it with a vest layered underneath on a really cold morning and it was great. I can also say that literally everywhere I've worn it, people have complimented me and asked where I got it. I'm hoping to wear it well into the colder months with layers underneath as needed, because it's one of the only coats I don't mind putting on.

I had read in other reviews that it is a boxy cut, and it's true that it does not have a super feminine silhouette. For what I needed, that is okay because I was always planning to layer under it for cooler weather. Even with a boxy cut, it is flattering and stylish. I love the fun details and color (I have the french navy version) - that bright zipper and lining are so fun on a rainy day.

All in all, this is worth more than the 5 possible stars!

Joules Has Me Covered - Rain Snow or Shine

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I continue to be impressed at how well this jacket handles everything that I have thrown at it. Rain? No problem ? snug and dry. Snow? Got it. Still snug and dry. Wind? Can?t feel a thing. Work? Classy enough to pull it off. Towing my kid around on a sled in the snow? No problem ? Joules has me covered.

The materials and construction of the coast jacket are clearly top notch. I love the waterproof outer layer ? it isn't plastic-y like most raincoats and looks almost like a fine weave canvas. Despite looking nicer than your average raincoat, the ability to block moisture isn't compromised at all. I've tested it in rain and snow and been 100% dry every time. The lining is soft patterned cotton that makes me smile every time I put it on. I love the big peacoat-style buttons and drawstrings, all of which give a cute, grown-up look to an old standby. There is a full, high quality metal zipper below the button flap.

The fit is true. I have an XL, which is big for me (5'6", 155 lbs). I appreciate the extra space in winter because I can layer a down coat or fleece underneath for insulation. The cut is a little on the boxy side (similar to Patagonia) and not extremely feminine, but I think the cute details make up for it.

I'm so excited to have a go-to jacket for wet winter and spring weather. Joules coast jacket works for playing outside with my son in any weather, running in the rain, and even going to work.

Big thanks to and Joules for hand-picking me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the Backcountry community. This was my first chance to try out Joules products and I'm really pleased with them! Joules is a UK based company that knows how to keep you dry and happy outdoors even in gray wet weather.
