    Get barreled in blower powder.

Based off the legendary pow-surfing shape of the original Hovercraft, the Jones Hovercraft Splitboard reigns supreme over your favorite backcountry stash with effortless float, fluid turn initiation, and precise control across icy steeps. As its name implies, the Hovercraft Split delivers mind-blowing float when your local range gets buried with feet of fresh powder. However, don't be fooled by this seemingly single-minded pow shape—the Hovercraft Split slices across crud and holds an impressive edge on steeps, thanks to serrated Traction Tech edges, camber underfoot, and a responsive flex pattern.

Responsible for much of the board's amazing float, the tapered directional shape naturally sinks the rear end in powder, with the gigantic nose weightlessly floating across the snow. Going one step further for greater buoyancy in the deep stuff we all crave, the lengthened nose rocker keeps you from submerging in powder, regardless if you're surfing turns at slow speeds or opening it up full-throttle on bigger lines. For times when less-than-ideal conditions are present or swift turns are necessary, responsive camber sits directly underfoot for railing aggressive carves and locking into firm snow without slipping out.

Creating a striking aesthetic while smoothing out chop and vibration, the bamboo topsheet gives the Hovercraft Split distinctive style and a damp feel. Karakoram clips actively join the board halves, reducing slop along the seam for a solid feel underfoot that's nearly indistinguishable from riding on a regular board. Traction Tech inner-edges inspire confidence on sketchy ascents, especially when you're side-hilling in icy conditions. Another impressive feature are stainless steel tip and tail protectors, which take the brunt of impact against buried debris lurking just beneath the snow, such as tree limbs and imposing rocks. Rounding things out, you'll find Quick Tension Tail Clips, which work harmoniously with Jones' signature climbing skins without the need for a traditional tail clip (skins sold separately).

    Board: Hovercraft Split 156cm
    Rider Weight: 180lbs
    Rider Height: 6'0''
    Rider Boot Size: 10
    Quiver Position: Split Board

    My ideal quiver includes:
    Powder / Freeride-Freestyle / All-Mountain / Party or Jib / Split Board

    Quiver:
For me the Hovercraft split is a do everything type split in the backcountry that you can get without having to sacrifice an arm and a leg like the Ultracraft. If you find yourself doing some splitboard mountaineering and the conditions are variable, this is a great board to have.

    Great for Touring:
On the deeper days, the nose doesn't stay down under the snow. It just wants to pop back up to the surface, thanks to the wide rockered nose. It also handles tight chutes and steep slopes well.

    Size:
This is where things get wonky. I've rode a 156cm Ultracraft and enjoyed it a ton, for splitboarding this is where I should size up even more to the 160cm Hovercraft split. But sizing Hovercraft/Ultracraft splits can be tricky.

    Board Selection:
There are a range of board options and this one might be for you....and it might not. Let's chat to make sure. We can also talk shop on boot, binding and board combos and how each part of the set up effects the others for your specific situation.
