    Get barreled with every turn.

Based off the legendary pow-surfing shape of the original Hovercraft, the Jones Hovercraft Splitboard reigns supreme over your favorite backcountry stash with effortless float, fluid turn initiation, and precise control across icy steeps. As its name implies, the Hovercraft Split delivers mind-blowing float when your local range gets buried with feet of fresh powder. However, don't be fooled by this seemingly single-minded pow shape. The Hovercraft Split slices across crud and holds an impressive edge on steeps, thanks to its Mellow Magne-Traction edges, camber underfoot, and responsive flex pattern.

Responsible for much of the board's amazing float, the tapered swallowtail shape naturally sinks the rear end in powder, with the gigantic nose hovering across the snow without sinking. Directional Rocker places responsive camber directly underfoot for railing aggressive carves in firmer conditions. For those days when the snow gods bless your local range with snorkel-deep pow, the lengthened nose rocker keeps you from submerging while a subtle tail rocker releases the back end for smooth slashes without hanging up.

Creating a striking aesthetic while smoothing out chop and vibration, the bamboo topsheet gives the Hovercraft Split distinctive style and smooth riding capabilities. Karakoram clips actively join together the board halves, reducing slop along the seam for a solid feel underfoot that's nearly indistinguishable from riding on a regular board. Magne-Traction inner edges inspire confidence on sketchy ascents, especially when you're side-hilling in icy conditions. Another impressive feature are stainless steel tip and tail protectors, which take the brunt of impact against buried debris lurking just beneath the snow, such as tree limbs and imposing rocks.

    • Effortless powder board that rips across icy steeps
    • Directional Rocker floats across powder and rails carves
    • Tapered swallowtail shape prevents the nose from submerging
    • Wider shaping allows you to downsize a few centimeters
    • Medium-stiff flex for responsive carving and stability
    • Mellow Magne-Traction edges deliver aggressive edge hold
    • Karakoram clips actively join the halves for a solid ride
    • Quick Tension tail clip secures to Jones' climbing skins

    Powder Heaven Split!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Just got back from a trip doing a couloir off the Grand Teton and this thing delivered - easily managed powder and hard pack on steep terrain which we encountered over the 5,500+ feet of vert. This thing easily maneuvers through narrow sections and is light weight for a split board. If you have any questions about this beauty - feel free to reach out

    Powder Heaven Split!

    Love this board.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this board this year so far haven't got the chance to take this backcountry yet. Found powder at the resorts and it obviously monster trucks through powder. What's surprising is how much fun it is on groomers. I don't ride much park and don't really care about riding switch this thing is fantastic for carving on groomed trails. I prefer it to my cambered twin tip board. Can't wait to take this board out for what its meant for.

If you want some assistance building a splitboarding set up, drop me a line and I'll be able to assist with picking everything out and getting you into the proper touring set up (and we can chat avy gear too!).

The float in the deep powder and the handling on hard pack is a combo that you just can't easily find in other "powder" specific boards out there. The big fat shovel nose on this with the right amount of rocker is just bad ass. But for touring the shorter (than a twin split) is nice on those mega tight/steep kick turns.
