Jetboil Sumo Stove

$159.95

Large and in charge.

You love the convenience and efficiency of your old Jetboil system, but you're tired of having to make multiple batches of everything to feed big groups of people. Luckily, Jetboil heard your concerns and created the Sumo Stove in response. Essentially just a bigger version of the proven Jetboil Flash system, it offers increased capacity to accommodate families and big teams.

JetBoil's FluxRing heat exchange system is built directly into the bottom of the insulated cup, maximizing fuel efficiency and promoting even heating by distributing the flame along the bottom of the cup. The cup itself is insulated to keep your beverage or meal from going cold and it's made of anodized aluminum for easy cleaning once you're finished cooking. As you'd expect, the insulated cozy also prevents you from scalding your hands when you're prepping and serving meals. It's also equipped with a drink-through lid that doubles as a spout and strainer, as well as a bottom cover that doubles as a measuring cup and serving bowl. The adjustable burner features a one-button piezo ignition for hassle-free lighting, and regulator technology lets you easily dial in the perfect simmer level. Best of all, the entire kit, including your fuel canister, all stack neatly together for total convenience.

  • Bigger version of the legendary Jetboil system
  • Everything neatly stores inside FluxRing cup for compact transport
  • 1.8-liter FluxRing cooking cup with lid and bottom cover included
  • Regulator tech allows fine-tuned simmer control
  • FluxRing heat exchange system promotes even heat distribution
  • Adjustable stainless steel burner with push-button ignition
  • Bottom cover doubles as measuring cup/serving bowl
  • Lid with pour spout/strainer for easier meal prep

Great Stove

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought as a gift for a family member for camping trips.

Fast boiling

It works really well. It’s compact size so easy to carry around and water boils so fast... however, it doesn’t comes with propane tank so you need to order separately.

Dang that's a quick boil!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I got the Sumo for my partner and I to take on a ski hut trip in the backcountry of Canada. It did a GREAT job and it is super easily packable! The canisters and all of the stove parts fit inside of the pot and therefore doesn't take up too much space! I would recommend this stove to anyone looking to cook for more than 1 person. I will probably be buying a smaller one as a personal backpacking stove as well.

Pretty Damn Sweet

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Not a lot to say that hasn't been said already. This jetboil works well, boils water quickly, and has handy features like measurements etched in the inside of the cup. The only thing worth considering is if you need one this big. On the plus side, you can fit the stove, caniseter and lighters inside the "pot" itself. 10/10 would recommend

Ultimate base camp stove

Love this stove when you have a group of more than 3 people on a longer trip. ideal for whipping hot drinks and preparing freeze dried meals. Boils so damn fast it's insane! Have never been let down by a jetboil!

Sumo

Great product! Love it! We bought the Sumo for our sacred morning ritual, coffee... Boils quick and holds enough water to fill our camping french press- which is about 38oz with a little to spare if needed. When it's boiling hot I prefer not to try and wiggle the self locking pot off the base- I just leave the lid on and lift the whole thing to pour- it may be just mine that is hard to turn but, it feels safer to me.

Fire it up!!

Got the Jetboil Sumo and I am extremely happy. Can’t believe how fast this thing boils water. It’s a big boy and fed my hungry troop in no time. These guys have thought of everything. Very compact and packable.

Great "lil" stove

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Been using the sumo Titanium for about 3 years now. Super lightweight, boils a ton of water very quickly (practically ready before I'm done grinding my beans) and super durable. Absolutely love the ignition system, haven't had any issues with misfirings - even in heavy wind. I'm nearly at the point where I'm hoping to discover a flaw to justify buying another. Perfected the design jetboil! RAMEN TIME

Hiking with a crowd?

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is the way to go when backpacking with a group. Nothing worse than eating in shifts after a long hike. Super excited to all eat at the same time!

Yes and yes, especially if you're hungry

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Dying to eat when you've crushed that hike and gotten back to camp? Cool. This will have you covered in no time. If you go out into the desert, backcountry, or wherever with a large group, especially, this is what's going to save the day. Heats up quickly and cooks even faster. I like this more than most other jet boil options because, well, it's bigger (more people, more food), and also because you can fine-tune how you want things cooked. Simmer options keep it all very specific, like you're eating in the comfort of your own home.
