Solid propane stove
We bought this for using when van camping as our Primus 2 burner takes up a lot of space. Piezo works well, pan is well sized, wind screen works very well. Stove is pretty efficient with all the pans we tried as long as it's not really small. The bag it comes with is great, packs up very efficiently and is easy to store in the van. Good single burner stove!

perfect storable solution
perfect for my application, Jetboil never disappoints, if you have the cash for the double burner, get it. I would hesitate to buy the 2 burner. I have no complaints about this product. definitely recommend for anyone that Overlands or car camps.

Regulator failed
On my first use of my stove the regulator leaked, unable to use. Unfortunately it’s been more than 30 days and past return date. After seeing other reviews on jetboils website this appears to be a flawed regulator issue. I would not recommend.

Enjoyable Compact Stove
The Jetboil HalfGen really makes cooking, especially car camping, easy. The added windguard is a nice addition when winds can pick up as I can attest on my last camping trip with 15mph winds and 30mph gusts really picked up. Anyone can set this up, beginner or can expert.

Perfect size for a single burner and it cuts out all of the unnecessary size so that it fits in the smallest places possible. I have yet to test it very hard but it has worked great up to this point

Jetboil - HalfGen Review & Feedback
The Jetboil HalfGen exactly fit the bill for my use case. The Genesis which is the two burner big brother, although a great product in it's own right, was more than I needed as well as twice the price. I love that Jetboil provided this offering at a much more affordable price point. You get all the same functionality with just one less burner. We need more companies to take this approach!

If you need a pan but can’t build a fire.
It’s big. Takes up a lot more space in gear bags than a cast iron, but has a low weight. There are ups and downs for this style of cooking. It has more versatility than a classic jetboil (cup) or a cast iron skillet alone, and it is a little easier to cook with in camp, and a lot easier to clean than most camp cook gear. If I were going camping and had no concerns about storage space and in a condition where open fires are not allowed or convenient, this is the pan I would bring.
